The main meeting point will be Dunfermline... McDonalds at Fife Leisure Park / junc 3 of the M90 in time for an 8am departure but there are several people meeting further afield and heading in from there. Not sure who's in Falkirk but the guys from Glasgow way will probably be on the M8 so you could tag in with them and head through.

    Cheers

Welcome to head down the road with me, the wife and Ivan if you want. Probably stick to leaving from Garthdee Asda.

Re: 'Viva Vauxhall' day @ Crail Raceway - Sunday 15th April

Given the numbers appear to be swelling, I'm going to come over all PMT and say the following...

Meeting Points and parking with Mig

The main convoy will be leaving McDoanld's in Dunfermline for 8am so we're at Crail for around the gates opening to clubs at 9am.

Whilst I'm aware there are groups meeting and travelling in from further afield, if you're making your own way there then it's up to you to either meet at Dunfermline en route or be at Crail at a reasonable time.

As Crail is 'first come, first served' when it comes to clubs parking, those of us who are there first will try and reserve a big enough area, however as you know it rapidly turns into a free for all so if you and 23 neeburs swan in at 11am, don't assume there will be space with the rest of us. There's a limit as to how much space we can claim and keep. A couple of late arrivals, well make space but as said, there's a limit.

It'd also be nice to have a 'stand' rather than a car park full of assorted Vauxhalls and hence for that reason too, the more of us that are there for it opening, the more chance we have of a) fitting everybody in and b) making it look semi-decent. There are 26 cars on the list, that's great but if several mates are tagging along and are expecting to park up in the Mig 'area' then do the decent thing and stick their name's down so we know roughly what to expect.

I'm hoping to have a load of fliers by Sunday, if so then we'll stick some under the wiper of each of the cars representing Mig... that'll also make it easier to establish who's who and where Mig starts and stops.

On and off the grass during the day...

It's not allowed. If you go on the grass to park up then drive off, you stay off. That's Crail's policy. So, those of you on the strip, bear in mind if you have enough by noon, there's a high chance you won't be allowed back on the grass and will have to park on the tarmac. There's nothing we can do about that. It's just something to be aware of.

    Driving to Crail in convoy...

I'm getting old, boring and drive a Volvo but I don't care. If you're travelling to Crail as a Migweb member, user or whatever then it's expected that you'll act with a degree of common sense. If you and your mate want to have a race up the A92 or want to drive like McRae on a mission round the twisties, then kindly sod off and do it on your own. I'm not having the club's name tarnished by idiots and nor am I acting as a witness at the scene of a fatal head on between somebody connected with Mig and a family en route to the beach.

Similarly, if any mate's coming along and have had too many Red Bulls and coffee, tell them to wind it back in a bit or again, make your own way there.

Last but by no means least, camera vans and unmarked cars usually feature highly on the roads to and from Crail and almost certainly the A92 plus a couple of speed traps in the likes of Anstruther and Pitenweem so be warned.

And that's about it, lecture over.

I'll see some of you Saturday for a beer, some at McDoanld's on Sunday morning and the rest up there for 9ish armed with suncream and bobble hats. Just in case.

    Cheers!

You coming to Dunfermline early doors buddy or just heading on up?

Think there's a few folk going to be waiting for the main convoy just at the end of the Standing Stane Road, Kirkcaldy end. Probably be passing there about 8:15ish.
