Ahm oot... I'm "darn sarf" working and won't be back up the road till dark o'clock.

How about tying it in with an event at Knockhill or Crail... or go for a blast one Sunday, been too long since we wasted some fossil fuels!

    Re: Fife meet?

Indeed, however I'd rather chew glass than come out the house in the cold, dark, rainy weather to stand in a car park or a multistorey... however, if there's something else on then I'd be more inclined to make a day of it. Never been one for meets behind the Premier Inn or at some skanky services somewhere. I'd rather meet in a pub, or a bowling alley... or at least go drive 100 miles or so round the coast then get a pint somewhere which is what, £15 for most of us?

    But that's just me...

    Re: Fife meet?

^This. One of my pals is goes to these "stand around in a windswept car park" meets. She realy doesn't see the error in her ways when she complains it's freezing.
Meeting indoors is definitely the answer! Or using the car for it's intended purpose and going for a drive .

I still reckon we should find a pub that's central to most of us and set up a regular meet, or a handful of pubs in different areas and rotate between them, IE one in Fife, Lothian, Ayrshire, the outback and beyond (Oban ), and Aberdeenshire for the northern massive. Do them on a Sunday and you've got potential for a decent run somewhere too!

    Re: Fife meet?

Agree with that. Definately need to get some things happening on a more regular basis especially with winter approaching. I'm liking the Sunday evening (or any other evening deemed suitable) idea and yes, could rotate them month to month (within reason!) Certainly ticks the boxes, wee blast, bit banter then a run back home again.

As for the Fife meet, I would propose the Fife Ring and then chuck a couple of stops in along the way. Ie, up to St Andrews for chips then round the coast and stop off at the Brewers Fayre or something for a post run debriefing session/to laugh at those with no balls or terrible navigating skills.

I vote yes to both motions! The first of which needs it's own thread, see what sort of interest there is and in what areas.

    Re: Fife meet?

There's a pub in St Andrews that does a minted steak pie and I think I remember where it is. We could head there, I'm sure it was a pie and pint deal so even I could be affording it!

Failing that it's 55 miles from Dunfermline to Pitlochry and we know that Pitlochry has awesome steak pie too.

Oh and if no one noticed, anywhere we visit is judged on it's steak pie......

    Jack said,

Surely you are only pulling it one way though? ie. you are pulling it along its length.

    Re: Fife meet?

    As alway I'm game!

I'm with Lugy on where ever we go it has to have good steak pie or do a mean fish and chips! Dunfermline has Armandos, Anstruther has two and I'm sure between us all we can find plenty good places for grub if we all get together.

Can I just say in Aberdeen there is an Indian and Chinese restaurants across the road from each other and there are awesome! So on that basis I say Aberdeen has to be a good place to visit via coast or A roads of course!

As Fife is slap bang in the middle (almost) of Scotland it would be good to have local meets in the Kingdom on Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights but could be a plan to organise drives during the day picking up fellow Scotland Miggers?

Can I also suggest the idea of another regional coordinator for the south? From either the Kingdom/Edinburgh/Glasgow area?

Couldnt agree more dave, but what you or i would or wouldnt do might not be the case with other's. Trying to get everyone's view as to what they want whether it be an afternoon on the lash or meeting up in car parks for a coffee and chat!.... either way were not really looking for folk to invite round for tea or to our wedding's are we?..

    Re: Fife meet?

Well come on then, somebody set a date (or a couple of dates) and a rough route and we'll take it from there?

Nae point all standing about talking about it if we're not actually going to to it!
