Rallycross at Knockhill - Sunday 18th September

MSA British Rally Cross Championship comes to Knockhill

Rallycross comes to Knockhill... quite fancy this as the racing looks pretty awesome. Granted it's not a show as such, but anybody fancy taking a run up for this?

Mr Reid if your willing to take a very rough passenger up to Knockhill I'm game. I have a wedding all day Saturday so will be ruff as a badgers arse, however after watching some of this years RallyCross on Motors TV I really want to see these cars in the flesh!

I went about 3 years ago when Andrew Jordan(BTCC) was still doing Rallycross.

Some of the cars were mental, stupidly fast. There was loads of mechanical failures that put the end to a lot of cars.

In the end some Irish guy in a yellow Pug 306 won. They went three wide into the top of Seat curves on lap one in the A final and he ran out of space and spun. No damage to his car but he had a fit and parked it in the middle of the race circuit to get the race red flagged.

He was allowed to take the restart and went on to win. It left a really bitter taste in the mouth. Really cheap tactic.

Looking at their website it looks very basic and I don't think there is going to be anywhere near as many cars. If I was not on holiday I'd still probably pop along to see.

The official entry list is there to see. Wonder if that is it or more will get added. http://www.rallycrossuk.com/documents/entry/round6.pdf

At that there is not enough cars to have to worry about running through all the heats etc.

The only name I recognise is Pat Doran! It's something I'd love to see but I'm not sure it'll be the same as when I used to watch it when I was a little 'un .

Yeah, was discussing this with Marc last night... think I speak for the both of us when I say that enthusiasm is a bit lacking. Weather's looking not too bad but quite a small field this year? Bit like the BDC, entertaining but just lacked numbers. Would I be right in saying the Rallycross boys can also drop a round or two and not loose points? So, needless to say they'll drop the furthest away circuit to save travelling costs....?

A round in Ireland, Scotland and Wales should be compulsory...
