    Your favourite Scottish road ....

Wee idea here, let people know of the best driving roads in Scotland for a blast.
Not necessarily the fastest, but cracking roads to drive, especially when just you and your balls !!!

First up from me the B827, Comrie to Braco in Perthshire.
Excellent twisty, wide enough to get away with and quite good visibilty to remain safe !

    Cracking idea John.

Technically the A74(M) takes you out of Scotland. The M6 takes you away from Scotland but who am I to piss on your attempt at banter........

If you only spent 4 hours in the country I can guarantee you havent seen any of the good bits :P

As motorways go, the M74 has some really good bits, but youd need to be doing 150mph to enjoy it properly!

Yeah, I remember you'd come down from the Carter Bar, there'd be a sign saying "Welcome To Scotland" then 10 yards further on a camera lmao and then every mile until Earlston

I used to flash them like a madman going the wrong way into them

    1. Failed attempt at sucking up. Don't worry, we're all still going to chib you at Billing 2012
    2. You have a Vectra diesel. The slow one. That does more miles per tank than something even more slow and boring. Thus one tank would get you from god knows to here back to god knows and still have enough in reserve to go to the garden centre. Lets have a Borders meet. Let's invite Kev.
    3. You spent 4hrs in Scotland to pick up a car... the 4yr olds round my way can pick up a car and strip the fecker in half that.

Ahh, one can only assume sir was travelling in the boot... and perhaps not by choice either. You son, should venture north and bring some of your Watford Gap fearing counterparts with you. I then would challenge you and your flip flops clad counterparts to sit in a pub/club/church/school/WRVS group in any of our great cities... Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee (ok, so not Dundee) Inverness and use the term "mincing"

All I ask is someboy in your group records the outcome and posts it on Youtube.

Two votes for the Glen Fruin Faslane road.....
I think you mean the top route which is Glen Fruin Road....but the one just below has part of it named Glen Fruin Road....

    Which route is it?

Re: Your favourite Scottish road ....

    the top one

the bottom one is the original which is single track I think. The 'good' one was built to transport 'stuff' to Faslane and Coulport.

I advise you continue your hoon right round to Coulport.

The furthest i've travelled is Strathayre(sp?), Callinder and the gateway to the highlands..... Couldn't tell you what any of the roads were called but many of them very nice.
Please ensure all events queries are pm'd in my direction. Please be patient and i will get back to you very soon.

Re: Your favourite Scottish road ....

the story/rumour of why the Glen Fruin Faslane road is so unique is that it was never designed to be a public road. It was designed for MOD use only and therefore they didn't design the road to the usual public road spec when it came to corners / blind crests / gradients etc. That's why it feels like a roller coaster.

Here's another cracker. Mostly single track but bloody great fun.

Best bit is Tummel Bridge to the A9. Zoom in and have a look at the corners!

    Kenmore Square to A9 north.
