A83 from Tarbet right down to Campbeltown has to be up there for me, bit of everything including great views most of the run. Another has got to be the A87 from Invergarry towards Dornie, then cut off up the A890 towards Lochcarron, then onto the A896 through torridon, turn right onto the best and fastest bit of road i have driven in Scotland, the A832 towards garve...

Afraid i don't know how to link it to google maps

Funnily enough, me and Tall Mate were on about a run down to Campbelltown soon... he wants to go to Machrihanish and see if there's any UFO's.

Good enough reason in my eyes...

The A836 from Thurso to Tongue, then the A838 round by Durness, then on to the A894 at Laxford Bridge, through Ullapool then finishing up back on the Dornoch Firth. Just just a shame Thurso is a ball ache to get to! Bing claims it'll take 3hrs 44mins to do.....

There are other ones including my "proving grounds" but we'll not go in to that lmao.

No mate, missed out on that one sadly.

Looked good, hence quite interested in a wee jaunt over West at some stage,

Done a trip from Aberdeen out to Aviemore at the weekend. Some good roads for driving and the scenary in Aviemore is well worth a visit.

Sadly this was a last minute decision and all I had for photographs was my iphone. I was also too busy having fun to think about taking photos!

Weather on Saturday was great and ended up staying over. The weather was very moody on Sunday but afraid an iPhone is never going to capture that right.

Re: Your favourite Scottish road ....

A few years ago I had a day to drive from Gt. Yarmouth to the Kyle of Lochalsh as I would be working the next day on a ferry out of Skye. The hire car they gave me was a fairly new Vectra V6 made for a pretty rapid journey up to Scotland and across the border. The journey went from exciting to totally fantastic upon taking the A82 out of Glasgow - up past Loch Lomond, around Ben Nevis and Glencoe and passing Loch Linnhe heading towards Fort William. Staying on the A82 I passed Loch Lochy until turning onto A87 at Invergarry and then onto the Kyle of Lochalsh where I was staying the night. The drive from home to hotel had taken about 12 hours so I drove home the day after finishing the job at a more sedate pace and stopped off at various places I could remember from being in Scotland when I was younger.
The West side of Scotland is probably one of the most beautiful places in the world.....
