    Knockhill aftermath thread (comments/pics here)

Well i would just like to say a big thanks to all the members who made the effort to brave the gail force 9 winds and thunder storms and attend knockhill!

Despite the weather, the atmosphere and general banter was top notch. Put faces to alot of usernames, and met some newer members/users.
The stand was the most varied ive ever seen, with virtually every car being different.

I never took any pics, but if anybody else has, fire them up.

It was a shower of shyte....

    What organisation by knockhill ??

Why did they bother asking for names, reggys number of cars if they did't even have a layout.
All looked more like a car park, thats why I just parked, abandoned and that was that.

Yep,when i paid at the gate the guy was like take the next left and park in theyr(the gravel area where the track car trailers and stuff were).

Was like "can i no park in theyr"?(paddock area).Guy stepped back, looked at the car and said aye go for it.

Funny thing is,when i went and parked up down behind the shelter,it had a cpl of club stands and a good few non vauxhalls.Would have been proper pissed if i did get bumped to park where i was originally told when theres Fiat's and Kia's inside.

Any1 see the Silver C63 AMG??Guy came in,span the wheels up a few times, slid the rear out and done a 180,then popped the boot and let some1 out.lol.

Why did they cancel it? Did anybody find out who won the other trophies?

It was cancelled because people started clearing off by 3pm and come 4:30pm there were 18 cars on site (we counted!) and thus it was deemed a waste of time.

Re: Knockhill aftermath thread (comments/pics here)

    From my point of view...

In the weeks leading up to the show, numerous e.mails/calls went to Knockhill and alot of the questions went unanswered regarding additional cars, layout, agenda and so on. We (myself, Tom - Future's Events Manager who flew up from bath and Stevie the photographer) did ask to meet with Knockhill on the Saturday to discuss the plans and the layout but we were told nobody was available. We were however told to be there at 07:30am int he morning (HA!)

We got there just after 08:00am, were met by a pretty abnoxious security chap and then directed to the office. We were told we had paddock one and three, ie the main one and the gravel and that basically it was a free for all. We set up the gazebo near the Clubhouse then the VXDC boys arrived and basically took over the entire paddock, form there the wind thwarted our plans. We had a meeting with Knockhill at 10:30 to discuss the plans (?) and it was then we moved into the scrutineering shed and well, the rest is history.

From my personal point of view, fantastic to see that number of people braving the weather and turning out to support the event but just a bit disappointed with the overall proceedings. Very frustrating as we collectively felt it could have been much better and much better organised with regards to access and parking. These points have been raised. That aside... a grand day if a little wet and a little quiet but hey, it's Knockhill.

And in closing, the security chap... seriously, if he's the warm welcoming face of Knockhill then God help us. I'd handed details to Knockhill and the gate as my other half was coming up at noon (free entry c/o the mag) and on arrival she was pretty much spoken down to, made to feel stupid and told nobody knew who she was. Think a wee bit of proffesionalism wouldn't have gone amiss. Yes it was raining and cold but jesus, welcome to Scotland eh!

    Anyways, onwards and ever on...
