The big "Crail aftershow party" thread...

Righty...

Given things were getting a bit confusing in the original Crail thread, it makes sense to split them up and have a specific thread for the aftershow shenanigans. The plan was to invade Edinburgh seeing as it's a bank holiday weekend so the big city should be pretty busy and for you single chaps, it's student season too. Anyways, a few of us have booked rooms at the Travelodge in Edinburgh's West End as it's currently only £19 a night and this hotel is about 10mins walk from Princess Street plus it has a bar.... and so what else matters!

Travelodge - Hotel overview

The plan... well, there is no plan but time Crail finishes and we then all pile straight over to Edinburgh (53 miles... banter!) we could either stop en route for some food, or head to get a shower, shave and a dump then head for dinner from there then straight onto the beer. That said, eating and heavy drinking right away usually ends in tears but there's some quality chinese buffets in the Omni Centre at the top off Leith Walk and from there it's a 30sec stagger to the first pubs.

So, who's all up for this, who's all staying over and what's the general opinion?

rite i have just spent half an hour trying to book a room via the link provided and even direct from there site with no joy, i shall just phone them direct in the morning, is there any where specific venue wise that people are wanting to go to out with pubs?, i have no preference as i cant say i have had a night out in the burgh, i shall up date the list once i have confirmed a booking,

i dont think i have met any of you guys but i guess i will soon, on saying that i think i met you melv breifly out side my work for a tammy? or have i got my wires x'd?? i hope you folks like a good scoop??? lol

Oh aye numerous scoops will be had, don't worry about that... I'll either be going home in an ambulance or a police car!

Location wise, the Omni Centre (top of Leith Walk) could be a good shout as there's several bars and eating places all under one roof so ideal place to start. From there, there's the posh places in George Street or up into the Grassmarket for more traditional stuff. Nae sure what will be open club wise, I reckon Mood will be (also at the Omni Centre) open and it also saves a 23 mile hike!

I've just tried buddy and it's working fine just now although the rooms are now £29.00 a night (that's still cheap!) but aye, could give them a ring directly to make sure.

There's not much in the way of info posted up on Migweb yet in terms of plans for the stand and so on, but regarding show itself there's some information on the VBOA website (VBOA - Home) but basically it's Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of July at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton. As far as shows go, it's more a chilled out weekend in a massive country park rather than the likes of PVS or TRAX so far more relaxed. There's always a good squad head down from this area and as said, Migweb have a club display but details are still quite sketchy for the time being. Definately worth the trip though, beers, BBQ food, banter and decent cars to look at are always a winner...
