As above.Any1 go??
I went along with a group of mates and convoy of 5 Cars. The weather stayed dry which was good but the strip wasn't so hot.
They have moved the start line back to give you more braking distance at the other end but I dont think it leaves enough room for warming the tyres up.
There was also what looked like sand/grit covering up some kind of fluid right on the starting line and also for a few metres down the strip. It was really slippy and I was 1.1 seconds off my previous best and thats with a diff and toyo 888's this time
I didnt see any stand out fast times from any cars nevermind FWD ones.
However it was still a good day with a decent drive through and some good crack. There were loads of Vauxhalls there and I spoke to a few guys from here I'm sure.
I'd heard that they have moved the start line. Have they filled any of the craters on the return road yet?
Unfortunately not Melv, its still as rough as a badgers.
I think they need to start changing some stuff there to try and keep people interested. That was £10 in the gate and £15 for the strip. Then its £2.50 - 3.00 for probably the worlds worst burger and £1.50 for a cup of tea. Add on my £60 of fuel and thats nearly £90 for a few runs.
My mate got his car washed, they missed half of it, big dirty lines everywhere. Saw some other cars the same. That was £5 for a sub standard job.
Think I'll only go to the bigger events this year like Total Vauxhall and USSC.
My mate took his 200sx up and the que for the drift oval is a bit of a joke aswell.
Sorry for the rant lol.![]()
Fair enough. Rant away. Suppose we could bombard their facebook page with our comments lmao
Just a pity that there is nowhere else to go up here.
Whatever happened to them using Edzell...??

Maybe ... alot longer than that : !!!
"Great news for 1/4 mile fans up North. If you are finding the journey to Crail too far every 2 weeks then fear not, we're taking Crail Raceway on tour for 2004. "DRAG RACE @ THE BASE" Edzell. Crail Raceway has secured one Sunday a month from March onwards to set up our 1/4 mile equipment on the Old American early warning station. "DRAG RACE @ THE BASE" Edzell is situated 1/2 way between Dundee and Aberdeen near Brechin. Turn off the main Dual carriageway(A90) at North Water Bridge heading to Edzell town, after 2 minutes on this road it's on your right. More details will follow once we have final dates and times for our 2004 program of events."
lolz

I went to Edzell once and it was a much much better surface and had so much more run off, in fact I ran slightly faster times there too. Shame it never came to be but then again, it was a bit of a trek up the A90 and it was also an airbase which I think was still active, so perhaps issues on that side. I know that Crail is a listed site and thus, development is a major no no plus the local's are dead against it so any attempts to improve the site/strip would probably be met with huge protest. That said, I'm sure there's nowt stopping them filling in the huge craters on the return road....
Cavalier Turbo Owners Club - As long as it runs I really dont care...
permission to use edzell would be tricky given half the space is owned by oil companies!
crails nice and empty....
i also think the edzell was poor turn out (too much tractor racing for the locals cars are boring!)
