i just copied this from MK3OC so some of its stating the obvious to the people who were actually in attendance. Bare with it lol
Left here at 7:10 to meet micky in glasgow
a few of mickys mates were heading along as well, MG ZR turbo and MK1 Astra C20LET, on the road pics.
Arrived at Dastek\ HQ and my car was 2nd on the rollers.
Vids
and then the problems started. After doing the 1st dyno run it hit the limiter in 4th pretty quickly so the operator stopped the test and shouter me over to the computer.
Showed me the graphs and its running very lean and not getting full throttle, ECU and also he reckoned the throttle position sensor isnt functioning so when the pedal is planted down its not putting enough fuel into the cylinders and hitting detonation with barely any fuel. So at that point i was told it was unsafe to do another power run for the possibility it might melt a piston, so that was that.
At that R16 JCD from here turned up and very kindly took us to U PULL IT to try and source another, found one off an omega 2.5 and got it fitted but still wasnt right so it was game over for the v6 for the rest of the day.
The end result was about 120bhp at the flywheel and 82bhp at the wheels, same power as a 1.4 8v MPI engine.
On with the rest of the day. The cars in attendance
C20LET VX220
Z20 LET ASTRA ETSATE
B204 MK3 ASTRA
(i think) C20LET CORSA
The supercharged VXR8 made 580bhp and lifted off the rollers, took severe strapping down to stop it going through dasteks wall
After everyone had been on the rollers we headed off on the random drive through some nice twisty b roads, most people got split up due to the tight roads and villages we had to go through and also due to the amount of cars that went as well.
Me and R16JCD (james) headed off ourselves and had a fantastic time up north.
So overall a great day out, big thanks to Melv for arranging it all and also a BIG thanks to James for the help at the scrappys and also leading the way during the drive and not getting me lost.
