Figured it would be a little less complicated to start a new thread regarding this, plus a few guys from the Vauxhall Drivers Club have expressed an interest in coming along for this too, so makes it easier to link to a new thread.
The intention was/is to go for a bit of a random drive following the rolling road event at Dastek on the 2nd, basically to avoid it being "just a rolling road day" and plus you just cannie beat a random bit of fuel wasting down some back roads, cars are fo driving after all!
However, could do with trying to come up with a basic game plan ahead of the day so we all have a rough idea what we're doing and agree. Given the ammount of cars running, I was assume it'll be nearer 3ish before we're done on the rollers (guessimate!) and given everybody will have been up since early doors and keen to get hoem for teh beer, I would advise against a Lugy spec 700 mile roadtrip!
On that basic and guessimating, I think a couple of hours or so in the late afternoon/evening will be sufficent and I also think heading north maes sense and we can do a loop round some of teh nicer roads in the area and swing back past Perth whic provides the guys from teh North the chance to break off and head for home .
So my thinking, and feel free to comment...
Leaving Dastek, up the M90 to Kelty then break off towards Knockhill Circuit
Past Knockhill and then through Glen Devon towards Gleaneagles
Gleneagles to Crief (peopel can break off at the A9 and head south/West if need be)
Crief, then up through the Sma Glen towards Dunkeld/A9 intersection
Cut over to Blairgowrie (dinner perhaps) and then head for the south
Northern boys can cut over to the A90 and head north, the southerners can head back for Perth and down the A9 to theWest or the M90 to the East
It works out ar around 70 miles from Dalgety Bay to Blairgowrie so easily doable in about 45mins...
Obviously this isn't set in stome but it's doable in a couple of hours, cuts through towns, has oppertunities to stop/take pictures plus links to many of themajor routes should people only want to do a small section and so on.
Opinions/feedback/suggestions?
Cheers
