custom exhaust makers in scotland

anyone know a good exhaust fabricator? where are they and what is thier work like? also any indication of prices?

im after a mild steel 2inch system making up for my nova rally car, could probably use the boxes and flanges i have so as to keep costs down. its a very simple system, straighter than a standard nova system.

so yeah, who? where? and how much?

Custom Craft in Elgin are good from what I've seen. Nick there has done Neil105's mk2 and the front pipeish area on my Corsa.

He does mild steel but I'm not too sure about prices.

He wanted £400 to do a 2.25 / 2.5, stainless, 2 box system from the down pipe back on my Corsa. As a comparison Powerflow wanted £340 for the same spec.

Elgin may be a hell of a treck for you though.

i got my 2.5 inch turbo exhaust with sports cat made at stainless creations in falkirk. very imprssive welds. choose yor tailpipe from loads of designs and loudness level. they make exhausts for rally cars. mines was £440. it should have been 3 inch but not enough clearance

Second them. Great workmanship, never send anything out they are not happy with and 100% customer satisfaction. every exhaust bar the one fitted now has came from them on my cars. and only as i got a good deal second hand or the one on the gsi would have came from them also

geographically speaking the place in east kilbride is my best bet, will get in touch and see about turnaround times and if mild is available.

got a rally in 2 weeks and my exhaust is, quite frankly, shocking.

There is a place in stirling that is getting good reviews, custom creations i think they are called, i have seen there stainless work and it really is very tidy.

im not being funny but why do you want mild steel instead of stainless? 316 is verry light and strong in comparison.

I had a full system made up by RJM and sons in Fife, Glenrothes I think. I dropped into see him, ended up leaving the car there and he had it back to me the day after for £350ish. The exhaust looks and sound great.

I paid for a cat back exhaust, i took him at his word he fitted that(silly me for not checking)but after checking it a few months later its only from the back of the lamda sensor, so no where near the cat. The welding is very poor in the middle section too, so as you can see i am not going to say he is good when i have had a poor job. Yes i passed on my faults.

simon has done the system on my gsi ,my astra v6 ,vectra c ,also welded up my hard induction pipes on my saab engine cant fault him on price/ quality /turnaround, also know a few other guys that recomended him to me that are happy with his service

im a big fan of c+c custom exhausts in hilington industrial estate, the reason i like them is that not only is the quality good but the fact that when you ask for a custom system every box is made from scratch for the car instead of using off the shelf boxes and bends and putting it together like a big jigsaw

I would recommend them, know a few guys that have had their cars in. mainly evo's n scobby's with their performance enhancing exhausts. Good prices to. Thers also RMS customer exhausts in Ayr and Elite Custom Exhausts in Ayr too at reasonable prices

RMS are a poor excuse for a company for anything - a mate got a wheel "repaired" through them and a custom exhaust done - In all fairness is it didnt fall apart or anything but Ive heard a few horror stories - Reason why I would never use them personally is because of the wheel.

Came back with a big blob of filler smoothed with a pointy rock it seemed and what can only be described as a halfords rattle can job ! - Ive never seen something so shoddy and half arsed before by any company. On the powdercoating / refurb front for anyone looking for work to be done I highly, highly recommend carrick engineering in prestwick - Price and service is second to none imo

Anyway this is about exhausts lmao My vote is for Meerkat - Done one for me and a mate and I never had one bit of bother with it, if anything I thought I paid a little bit more than you would normally but the service and quality was ace. I guess everyone has different standards though !

Was RMS not ok back in the day ? Or has it always been guff ?

Im only adding this in because of all the bad reviews RMS gets iv used them twice for catbacks on a clio and an almera the only problem i ever had was a clamp on the clio rotting away. They seem to be ok if you hang about and watch them.
