Agree to disagree at some points, but if my coupe was millimeters from the road surface i would take it on the chin and say it was my fault!.. well £475 worth of damage so it wouldnt have happened if i had taken another route but at that time it was obviously avoidable and totaly oblivious that the road condition was that bad!...

And all this from the man with the signature that reads "IF IT DONT SCRUB..IT AINT LOW ENOUGH!"

And I can't be the only one who finds this story a bit dubious... after all, potholes usually cause strut damage and wheel/trim damage due to the sudden impact. However, the wheel tends to fall into a pothole and thus I'm not convinced the wheel would survive if the hole was severe enough to crack a quarter panel. Generally, arch damge is caused when the car squats down, ie a gully in the road that forces the weight right down on the suspension and thus the wheels could hit the arches. That said, it clearly has the wrong tyre size/offset if it's hit the arch lip.

I'm not picking holes in your story, I'm just not sure the damage you describe could be caused by a pothole...

Pictures or it never happened! lol!
