    Northern Long Weekend - September/October

Righto, we talked about this at Crail, how about a weekend away in the West Highlands?

Basic setup would be meet at Fort William on Friday, take the scenic route up to Kyle of Lochalsh, go up to Portree and explore Skye, come back down and up to Applecross, stay in Applecross overnight, camping should be easily do-able or there's a hotel for the more advanced , head right up to the top on Saturday round the coast through Durness and Tongue onto John O'Groats. Saturday night could be spent in John O'Groats or somewhere a bit nicer. Sunday we'd all head down to Inverness, have a bite for lunch and split off our separate ways.

If people couldn't get time off on the Friday then they could meet us somewhere along the way. The distances covered each day wouldn't be huge (normally I'd do that in a day lmao), it'll just be a leisurely weekend away to mark the end of the year before we head into hibernation (yeah right....).

Anyway suggestions for a date would be good, ideally not clashing with the thing at Castle Combe on the 11th of Sep or the next weekend 'cause that's the Gold Cup at Scarborough , though I could probably sacrifice the last one. October could still be good though, the weather's usually still pretty nice and there's nothing important on.

Cheap as chips mate, comfortable and heated = good night sleep

We stayed in Gairloch last april, it was minus degrees at night and the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) were extreamly comfy inside the hut Good few sites up the north too which could be incorporated into the run??
