Always in the boot of some1s car.

Me and a mate lifted an LET(minus the F28) into the boot of a Cavvy turbo. We kinda got the measurements wrong before we went to get it so it had to get tied down sticking out the back.lol.

Re: pic's of how you transport your engine!

Once went to Noooooo'astle with Dougie for a complete XE. Thing was we took the old Supershed and lobbed it in the boot, the mount for the spare wheel was hampering progress so it was quickly pummelled to death with a sledgehammer (along with some inadvertant spare wheel well reshaping) so the engine would sit in nicely. Came back up the A1 with a comedy speedboat esque stance, even passing a rather confused looking TVR driver at 100mph+.

Sadly these days I'm getting to old for that sort of ****, last engine we moved was complete a complete V6 with box, wiring, shafts, struts, subframe... the lot. We "borrowed" a forklift truck and launched the whole lot into the back of my old works brand new (32 miles) Caddy Maxi van and buggered off. Getting it back out was entertaining, at one point we consdiered chaining it to the two post ramp and simply driving forward but that was deemed too destructive. 4 of us plus an engine crane later and it was finally back out.

Note to self: buy a forklift truck

Re: pic's of how you transport your engine!

i once went down to the south of england from glasgow in my r reg ford fiesta 1.25 zetec with a full compliment of tools inc petrol genny and engine lift to remove and buy a z20let/f23 for the corsa c. it was FULLY loaded and on the way back we also popped into liverpool to pick up a complete piazza rear axle for our chevette. there was no room in the car so we had to buy a roof rack and it had to get strapped down to the roof lmao. that was some trip back up the road, the car was seriously overloaded and just wallowed about the place, brakes non existent Was a hoot though
