poll time. decisions on what i do with my engine

been thinking about the future of my nova engine 2.0 x.e with zzr1100 bike carbs. ive been phoning around a lot of places to try and get the thing running, due to it running bike carbs a lot of places said they are limited on what they can do with it i.e re-jet the carbs etc

im sure its the carbs that need sorting/something silly as ive had the engine running before therefore im hoping it aint anything major, but at the same time ive been thinking on other options on what i could do.

ive got money put away that would cover each of the three options on the poll. the only worry is that if i keep the current engine with the bikecarbs im worried that the repair bill may come to more than expected

Sort your current engine. Cheaper and less hassle than the other two options. XE on bike carbs is more unique / interesting too.

Re: poll time. decisions on what i do with my engine

its turning over but not actually starting, the problem i had was that all of a sudden the revs kept falling and i had to keep the revs high or the engine would cut out, now the damn thing aint starting, once when i did get it running the car would only idle at 500 rpm with the revs dropping and the engine cutting out and being a bit of a pain in the arse to start again

get it running gordon. have you checked the jet sizes they should be about 1.85mm according to the carb thread on here. it sounds like a fueling problem by the symptoms a bike of mine used to do that just have to keep adjusting the air fuel mixture

Re: poll time. decisions on what i do with my engine

right ive decided to keep the current engine with the bike carbs, ive to phone a company called ACE performance out at the back of lanark who will be willing to have a look at it and hopefully get it going again, surely it must be a fuel problem. gonna get them to do the camshaft oils eal aswell while its there. hopefully within the next 2 weeks it will be away getting sorted
