New Car Opinions ???

Afternoon folks !!

Well Ive come into a bit of cash (Redundancy Money from a company I was leaving from anyway = Bonus ) & I'm seriously missing having a Vauxhall to tinker with so since I have the opportunity to buy myself another Vaux im looking for your opinions on the matter ::

Looking upto about £2k to spend & im wanting a fairly modern car to play about with that has a certain degree of comfort (Ie 16v Nova's need onto apply

The choices Im thinking are ::

Vectra V6 (Big, Comfy, reliable-ish & I love the ST look which can be easily achieved)
MK4 Astra Sri (Fairly modern, reliable & have plenty of toys for the money)
MK3 Astra Gsi (Bit quicker than the MK4, I love the looks & can strip them to bits - Bad point - Ill spend a fortune on one)

Anyone have any opinions on the above cars ??

3.0 v6s rock. especially when in a vectra which already has the ST look
Astra sri is a bit limp imo
Mk3 gsi's rock when made properly

Another vectra seems an obvious choice however I love mk3's - Just starting to look abit dated now.

Mk4 is the compromise car - Modern looks, Easy to interchange parts with the GSi (Which is bang on IMO) & if all else fails drop in a ZLET for reasonable money.

Also fancy a Vectra turbo but already converted for my pleasure - Could be done of a shift a few things I have lying about

XE Mk3's are a real pain in the ass to find a good one. You would be aswell buying a 3dr sport and dropping in an XE TBH. Buy one in a GSi colour and then the kit doesn't need sprayed.

I'm not a fan of the mk4 but an SRi with a zlet would be a good idea.

Vectra V6 = win.

But ive had the whole vectra thing including a ST Before - All it done was sit in the garage causing me untold grief while I toyed with the LET.

I know Mk3's inside out & could throw a XE in happily - Would need to find a Decent sport thats not stupid money to make it worht while.

I do boyo but Im wanting a car I can go to the show's in and spend a little cash on enjoying it while still being my daily driver. Thwe current V6 is complete toss lol (Ask Lugy )

This is just for a nice looking daily driver - The evo will be my car to build up and enjoy !!

Why not the MK4

All I can see is it comes in a decent level of trim for the money, still looks modern by all accounts & overall better than a std mk3 !!

Im not looking to build a project car - just a comfy motor in decent spec I can enjoy while still bring it along to the show's / meets

Just too small for me im afraid.

Narrowed it down to a Vectra or Mk4 Astra - Got a Sport to view tonight & a ST to view on Saturday. Then I can sell the current POS v6 for a few quid
