Feckin' Monday already...
having been up at Time Attack at Knockhill yesterday, I've decided I need a track car. I've also decided Dempsey should donate his ST200 to the cause just to really upset the purists!
To e.bay...

Stripping a Cav Turbo and wanting to turn a ST200 into a track car. You will end up more hated than Neil Lennon lmao

Vectra's are a bad idea on a track! Funny, but bad.
Good point, you of all people should know this. I guess Stockholm Syndrome has kicked in though.
And it's arrived and has been berthed at Rosyth Dockyard... I give you the RMS Helga of Gotherburg...
That gentlemen, is 275 tons of Swedish iron "styled" to resemble a large warehouse and then furnished with a couple of old wingback chairs from a Georgian mansion. However, that my friends is irrelevant when you learn of the engine that powers the mighty beast...
Oh yes, that is indeed 2.5 litres and 5 cylinders worth of tar, oil and seal pup burning lovliness. Originally designed for the Sherman Tank (which indeed the car was styled upon) it's been fitted/dropped/bolted into the Volvo with a whopping great turbo nailed to the back for good measure and produces, are you ready for this... 140bhp and 210lbft, that's a power to weight ratio of 0.09bhp per ton.
But, it does have a towbar and a boot big enough to house half of Easyjet's fleet and should crack 45mpg on a good day, if empty. The performance I hear you ask... 0 - 60mph comes up in a Supercar scaring 6 miles or if you prefer, power down the sliproad at Kelty and it should be hitting 60 by the Forth Road Bridge. With a car of this spec, obviously the top speed is limited. Not electronically but by the lack of power, barn door aerodynamics and ultimately... fear.
On that note, should the invetiable happen and it does leave the road, a. it'll take half of Fife with it and b. when it eventually does stop, somewhere near Cumbria or by striking something hard, Germany perhaps, then at least there's 26 miles of bonnet to bend before it get it. By which stage the 89 airbags will have exploded and the experience will be likened to Zorbing, though Zorbing is cheaper to do by the hour.
Anyways, must go... parked it in the drive and just realised it's arse is so long, it's created a bit of a roadblock in the street.
Mig Scotland support vehicle/towcar/mobile home/cross channel ferry FTW!

Once again the pride of Scotland was on our screens - the scheme. I cant wait to see the last two episodes! Anyone else clock the cameo by the black Corsa b sri on cesaros?
Ive driven an automatic one of them dave, and was actually quite quick for a big estate! Must have been cheap, as its no t5![]()
