Knockhill : Scottish Motorfair & Hot Hatch Spectacular

I know its a few months away but just seen if anyone will be going to any or both of the above events (Scottish Motorfair 13th-14th May & Hot Hatch Spectacular 21th May)

I went to both last year and they was both good days out, there is no more information on the events yet but there should be within the next few weeks

I was thinking Craig could maybe arrange a MIG/Vauxhall stand at the above shows ? or at least one of the shows.... Vxlscc/Clubcalibra have stands normally at them along with others....

Hot Hatch Spectacular is slightly different from a normal hot hatch, as am sure you know hot hatch is normally a turn up and watch people on track / turn up and race on the track, at hot hatch spectacular there is club stands / show and shine.....

Motorfair you could say its a mini PVS/Trax... now if i remember correctly there is club stands as like the spectaculars but there is normally other things aswer (motor bike stunt people....) the one i went to in 2004 was alot better than 2005 imho but still none the less a good day out and better than sitting in the house.........

I think but dont hold me to it.... knockhill can/will do private track days but it costs more than a normal hot hatch.

Forgot to add at both events there is other things happening on the track (drifting, go karts etc)

So Craig whats happening ? Are you going to look into getting a stand at one or both of these events ?

Edit - Craig have asked Knockhill for more information about getting stands at the above show... see what they say and take it from there ?

Have to phone/email mate, have sent an email anyways and they normally get back the next day, 2 days max so will let you know what they say

Hi Darren,

Thanks for you e-mail enquiring about stand space at our Hot Hatch Spectaculars and our MotorFair.

There is no charge to attend the Hot Hatch days and you would be able to bring 8-10 cars on the proviso that they are up to standard to be in the show area, this would be up to you as the organiser and we will not admit cars that are not up to the job and that could be embarrassing for everyone on the day. This rule applies to all clubs.

Motorfair is £5 per square meter and as a club you would get that value back in free tickets, so it wouldn't actually cost you anything in the end! MotorFair is going to be immense this year and I'm sure you would get allot out of it and enjoy it very much. A maximum stand size of 10mx15m is available to you and space is running out quickly so you would need to confirm before the end of Feb. Because of the nature of this show there are strict rules regarding attending, only the very best cars are allowed to attend and they have to be on the stand for the full duration of the show

Let me know what you would like to do and send me all your contact details and I will make sure you are sent the correct booking forms etc

cool, now we have to get cars that are 'upto' the standard :S mine is a weeee bit rough round the edges tbh...

by my calculations (wonky lol) its gonna be just over 60quid for a full stand at the motorfair, should be good for about 8-10 cars again

any volenteers to put their cars on?

I dont think we should bother with the Motorfair because they will be wanting highly modified cars for the show area but the Hot Hatch Spectacular i think we should get a stand of 8-10 cars for that ? (i will ask Sasha / Knockhill Events Manger if our old Vauxhalls would be good enough for a stand at MotorFair)

Mine is in need of some work but its off the road at moment anyways so should be back on before May and looking abit better....

i think they are just meaning up to the standard, as in, not rust buckets, nice paint, clean and shiney.

I am awaiting for some booking forms to arrive but as long as the cars that would be on show are Good - Mint condtion and not standard then they are welcome to be on a stand at Hot hatch spectacular.

The MotorFair is more looking for highly modified cars but have been told that there is a possible chance we could get a stand!

So thoughts on this ? Should we go for a stand at Hot Hatch Spectacular ? (21st May)...

think we should give the motorfair a miss as far as stands go, could maybe arrange a meet at the place, have a mince around together.

the spectacular, yep im happy with that, just need to get cars that fit the bill. 10 minted cars shouldnt be that much of a tall order, mine is deffo out, its not exactly minted.....

Yeah i think MotorFair is a miss but Hot hatch spectacular we should give a go...

Over the next month i guess we should start getting some names down and see some pictures of these 'mint' cars.....

Am just going to say one thing before we start, people remember not EVERYONE will get on the stand just before anyone thinks we are not allowing them on as we do not like their car etc.

im not sure if we have any 'show' cars, mine is a daily driver also, front bumper is ****ed! i dont think there would be a point getting a stand, if we cant show cars :/

we could have a meet on the day tho, have a mince around

21st May I will be up for that. Will either have the Corsa or hopefully a track car (maybe a Nova Saloon) I can blast round in. Was good last Sunday was up in the corsa did a few sessions was fairly busy too.
