MIG Scotland Update

MIG Scotland Update

1st item to consider is the fortnightly meets at Kincardine, unless anyone has any objection to these they will continue as is for now, with a view to going monthly if attendances start to dwindle too much,
As for the Mig barbecue I致e thought about a provisional date of Sunday 15th of May with a second one in July dependant on the success of the first, I will put up a thread about this shortly for names suggestions guys just get everyone to bring some grub or will I just do the cash and carry run and split the cost? Again your input is most welcome.
In regards to the northern region I知 going to need some help guys, as most of you know the missus is expecting so long trips up north have to be planned carefully around this, i.e. I have to bring her with me, so can either one of two things happen, one of you amazingly committed guys up there step up to the plate and volunteer or can all you guys up north pm me with preferred days and times for a meet and I値l organize something, I need to know what you prefer guys not much point on me planning a weekend in Elgin if only 1 Migger shows up.
Moving on to more important matters one of our main events in the region in the first half of the year is going to be our track night at Knockhill its going to be one Friday night in May (date TBC) with sessions being 」35-40 per car and first driver, its being booked in with a Glenrothes Motor sports Club night which means we wont be seeing any of the usual track day Saxo warriors in attendance, which is good news for yours and my panel work,
On the online front I致e been busy behind the scenes sorting out a new server for the regions use, and the good news is that we now have unlimited storage and bandwidth space for any files that region members want to post up (keep it sensible guys no wares or porn) would be nice to have a central resource for all of The videos that appear on MIG. Rumor has it that I might be treating myself to a decent camera sometime soon and will undoubtedly become a bit more snap happy, but in the mean time bring your cameras along to the meets guys and catch fellow members in their mincing poses,
One last thing I want to bring up guys is to remind everyone of the regions transplant team being on standby most weekends, for the price of numerous cups of tea and bacon sarnies you can have a number of experienced modders mince round your garage waving spanners around and generally getting in the way of your conversions, but seriously I know for a fact that if anyone is needing a hand with anything or even if your not That myself, and various others are only too happy to come along and lend a hand,
Now that the Mig business is out the way I can give you all a personal update, I知 keeping the nova, Alistair Olsen is going to sort me out with a baby valver and I知 going down the bloody expensive tuned 1600 16v route. The cavalier is being sorted this weekend (and then punted) and I知 on the lookout for a tidy Cav gsi/sri or even a astra or a cally up to a grand if anyone hears of anything please let me know.

Hope to see you all at the next meet

Rob

lol, take it your servers back then?? I just came in here to dao that for you. This would indeed explain the lengthening of the period between email replies pmsl!

PS 1600 route shouldnt be that expensive if you stick to normal power. Weld up a plenum powerbox style, or use bike TB's and some form of management, stick to std cams etc, should get 135ish. depends how much you want to blow on it after that!!

i tell you what rob dont make a decision the now. i can at least take you out in a LET nova, then all you need to do is go out in a 16 16v for comparison.

its going to blow up, robs mad, but its a laugh!!

I dont deny that a properly set up nova can be good, but physics dictates a small block will always be better.
