You should be able to use the standard Air flow meter, just relocate it so it not being blown through. Put in on the intake side if the turbo cos they dont like being blown through with forced induction.
I put 350bhp through the standard f25 |

| evening gang...setting myself up for a big weekend of work on the car since the weather looks to be ok again, most of the work shall be on the body but im also getting the rest of the engine ready, now heres a few questions.. at the moment i have a 2.5 and a 3 ltr v6 block and bits...reading a few messages on the board should keep my 2.5 ltr rods as they are stronger than the 3ltr ones ?, also can i use the 3 ltr crank or are they the same?..pistons should be on there way from Matheus428 soon (forged with a comp ratio of 8.5:1) i have the 3ltr heads which i need to start work on the porting and flow and also upgradeing the springs and guides and mostly all the pipework is done for the turbo...just need to locate some flanges for the exhuast and turbo. Nearly finished fitting the side skirts and also going to have a look at the rear suspention because its sitting a bit high and looks like a tractor.. |

were this one has less pipework meaning less heat loss and the pipes are all equal lenths.
is there any real rule on this or would the difference be non noticable. | ...can't you put a smaller turbo on each three cilinders?

| Twin turbo 3ltr v6....hummm...would be nice.. ..but i think the room at the rear of the engine bay is a bit restrictive and the heat produced by the rear turbo might cause a few problems. |

| lol...i only get weekends on it due to it being in the g/friend dads garage..so if you look at it..2 years = around 100 weekends..which is around 200 days...take off weekends away and rainy days..still works to about 150 (ish) days...not bad for something that started as an oil change.. |

| Started painting the car today with 2k high build primer.. in my makeshift spray booth...was going fine until the gun failed on me.. the setting neddle in the gun has threaded resulting in the primer spitting out of the gun and 'blobbing' over the place..also the primer started to dry quite quick for an mix of 1000ml primer and 300ml hardener...might need to get some 2k thinners along with a new gun tomorrow. as for the enigine, the pistons from Matheus should be flying there way here soon and i have sent the head gaskets off the cometic as a template for some copper ones...soon the monster will be alive...just got to finish off the primer next saturday, then spray on a few coats of black 2k on sunday..leave it a week then sand and polish... phew. |

| Been following this one for ages, looks like the end is now in sight!
Are the new pistons your using standard size and just hone the bores for new rings or are they oversize requring a rebore?
Either way,the run-in miles are gonna be a nightmare, just waiting to fully unleash the beast!
Just out of interest,Are your new pistons cast or forged, and what are the piston manufacturers recomended piston-bore clearance?

| the pistons are forged ones from Matheus on here with a comp ratio of 8.5:1 same size as 2ltr let ones and fit in the block like a glove (tried some LET ones for size first) as for running it in i think i might just sit on a rolling road overnight... ...as for security Dom..i still have my Tandy made car alarm.. and by the time anyone has nicked it they will need to stop at every petrol station to refuel the thirsty beast..so it will be a big possabilty that the crash would be top of the list. |

| Just a tip regarging an alarm system,
I built a nova XE from a bare shell a while back, and before the dash-board went in i installed a TOAD Ai606 and rather than just cable tieing the alarm wiring ontop of the main loom i unraveled the loom, installed the alarm and then got a roll of the proper non-sticky loom tape to loom it all up again,so all the alarm wires are totally hidden,i also made all the connections 'in' the loom(soldered and heat-shrunk),most alarm installers make alot of the connections at the ignition switch/indicator stalks just because its easy to get to,its also 'dead' obvious which the alarm/immobiliser wires are to a thief.
Another thing so called Pro-installers do is just stuff the main control box up behind the dash, not properly screwed down, and not in the metal casing that 'needs' to be fitted for thatcham approval,If you do it yourself you can secure it properly, neatly and out of the way.
Then to get your thatcham approval you need to visit an alarm place to have the system checked and the certificate signed, which i needed for insurance.
I got a brand new TOAD Ai606 for Ј99 off E-bay,fitted it myself to a MUCH higher standard than so called Pro's,Ј20 for the certificate,so all in all i have a top quality alarm/immob for Ј119 that is over Ј300 fitted by a Pro.
Well worth it,get rid of the 'tandy' rubish!
