| getting there...checking ways of cooling pistons 5 & 6 due to i have been told that they might overheat, still looking for the pistons but have found that Courtneys sell them off the shelf for Ј750, Accurite are around Ј900 but waiting period, but im getting a few feed backs from the usa from companys that can do them for around $500. Bar just a few set-backs its getting there.
just cheacked a thread on here that vauxhall did a prototype engine and might have parts but i had a look on the EPC and found nothing... |

| picked up the v6 3ltr yesterday evening...i got...two 3ltr heads (no cams), 3ltr block, crank, water pump, oil pan and bits, all for Ј150. stripped it down today to cheak it all over, piston rings were focked and some damage to pistons but everything else was perfect even the cylinder bores. Now the plan will be get some turbo piston from a couple of 2lrt LET's swap the rods from the 2.5ltr over to the 3ltr and get a couple of strong gaskets made for the top end. Also the 3ltr was from a auto, the flywheel was like a piece of paper...why are they so light? Pics will be on here monday night as i forgot the lead for the digi camera.... |

| nearly forgot to ask a few techy questions,
when running the turbo what Air Flow Meter should i use?
Can i use the LET turbo flywheel and clutch with the V6 and F28?
And im i two minds on going for a locked transferbox, what power can you shove in to it? |

| The Auto flywheel is just a starter ring, that's why it's small.
The Turbo, or XE clutch and flywheel will fit, but you need the relevant clutch disc for your chosen gearbox.
the V6 Airflow meters are good for at least 250 BHP, with the standard V6 ECU, although you'll need an ECU capable of controlling Boost.

| i had a look at some of the prices for pistons and found that the Forged pistons for turboed C20XE/C20Let engine in any compressio ratio you want: Ј270 that Matheus428 is selling on his thread http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=192996 should fit my 3 ltr ok and the price and quality looks good also...he couldn't do the ones for the 2.5 ltr as the cost for a new mould would have pushed them up. |
