| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan Thats quite a long way off to the side for the turbo isnt it, surely itll end up being further inboard to the engine. making the manifold up for that gonna be super fun aint it , doing that yourself?

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan the turbo is going to be about half a foot more towards the engine...its only that i used some ties to keep it there for the pic.. ..the manifolds are going to be a mixture of x25xe ecotec manifolds like the ones off and omiga and a two into one pipe going into the turbo..its going to be very close to the engine in the end but untill i have made the pipes up you shall have to wait.... |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan What you doing about Internal cooling?
as piston 5 + 6 will melt is not alot is done? even with the small SAAB turbo this is a MASSIVE problem i know this from talking to the lad with the Astra one (which is not going no more as he go pissed off with it going pop all the time, and from Courtneys Vectra)
you going to cut the Inlet throttlebody off and attach it to the other side?

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan cooling is an issue but im getting some details on how to channel the block to allow the water to flow better, im looking to have the turbo running off both outlets like with some of the dodge v6 turbos i've seen but i have been trying to look for a manifold engineer that can do one like yours beardy is it off a saab turbo? inlet is staying the same. |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan i have been looking at some of the pipe layouts on other v6's and im going to be doing one of the two layouts pictured below, both will alow me to fit the turbo over and above the gearbox side. The first will allow me to fit an external wastegate and do the outlet for the exhust side of the turbo without the complication of fitting the pipes past the 4x4 unit.
were this one has less pipework meaning less heat loss and the pipes are all equal lenths.
is there any real rule on this or would the difference be non noticable. |

I would imagine that with the torque of the V6 it won't really matter.

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan thanks MWF the sites were a great help, i might look in to getting a shot job on the conrods as the pistons are costing me Ј800 so saving money at this stage is perfect for me. at the moment the whole project has cost me around Ј2200 from start to were i am now...should take about a grand to finish it...i hope...well the girlfriend hopes it does... |
