| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan hopefully i should have the 4x4 unit set up on the car this weekend on the rear..finished welding in the extrat frame work to the sub frame and have fabricated up some brakets for the rear of the suspention.
Turbo piston for the v6 have been ordered at a price of Ј900 and should be with me in about 11 weeks.
nearly finished the filling and sanding and now i have a new roof on the garage (gives me 10 foot extra head room and floor space back) i can get ready to spary the car.
Roll cage nearly finished and plastic fule tank has been ordered.
can't wait to try it on the strip with the T3 and NoS running should be hopefuly september time... |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan You want something much more durable than waxoil for the underneath.
Waxoil is really thin and good for spraying in box sections etc,it is no where near durable enough for use underneath the car.
You wanna use a proper underseal wax for it like the origional factory stuff.
Waxoil is good though, ive just sprayed all the box sections with it on the nova ive just rebuilt.

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan Got to get my digi camera off my sis as she is doing some arty stuff for collage..the 4x4 rear is nearly all on..was more simple than i thought...only needed a bit of tube metal and a few welds...i shall get some pictures for you all next weekend. Im making a trolly stand for the engine so i can fit the block and gearbox together..at the same time i can fit all of the turbo pipes and make sure ever thing is purfect, once again i shall get you the pics next week end...sent off for the new turbo pistons (Ј900.. )..should be here in 12 weeks time..not a bad price realy for forged, deep bowl pistons with all the rings also. |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan Excellent work fella.
That does indeed look like cav/cally IRS from 4wd, what im thinking of having a crack at too, must be a real pain to try and get that lined up straight though. |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan I have all the bits now to finish off the rear suspention for the 4wd and shall post the pics up here this weekend when it is all set-up ...call the company that is doing my turbo pistons for me and the chap said that they can do shorter con-rods also with the forged pistons to lower the c/r down to a good rate, any problems with this guys...i cant think of any at the moment? he said its what they do for the vw v6's (sorry for swearing) and other v6 and v8's models. If it good then i shall get him to do some for me. |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan Would depend how much shorter i woulda thought, dont want the pistons to be dragged to far down the bore on the down stroke, could be a prob but im not sure.
Best to post a separate post in mechanical, few of the V6 boys may be able to answer that one. |

| Re: GTE V6 T3 Nitros Plan Had a chat with a few people and it looks as if shorter con-rods could work if they are only shortened by a very small amount, with the turbo pistons being made up then the con-rods will only need a small amount of shortening. |
