i think it will be ok if you have a decent diff and with the mappable management you can always have launch/traction control fitted coupled with some driver ability(which i assume you have building this thing) you should be ok for traction. IMO

i was looking lastnight for a launch control and have found a company in the USA that sells a launch control/traction control with a nitros control all in one Ј3000
i will skip that company...my mate recomended a cople of sand bags in the bay and foot well......anyone know if PVD or Regal do chrome or carbon fiber sand bags

The v6 has TC on already but i might look at getting just launch control, i still might get rid of the TC and keep the launch just have to see what the set up is like...i will have to look a bit more in to this.

I was bored yesterday and having seen your astra .. i weighed up my situation..

Skint, In need of cheap modification to car, and bored

So i started preparing it for its respray.. Although now it is in 'preparation grey' primer

Keep up the work.

You can get fully mappable ecu's with traction control and launch control on.. Like the DTA

DTA...any info on a web site i can have a look at?
the problem when i was sanding the car was as it got to the bare metal the sun was reflecting off it and it got a bit blinding..
im get some 2pak undercoat in a week when the work is all done on the welding, it shows up all the inperfection before you spray the body with paint...hides all the tiny chips but shows the dents and scratches..you just filler in the inperfections, sand and spray the undercoat again till its purfect.

Most of the mods i have done are on a budget..i hunted around for weeks looking for bargins so for the main costs are:

Car Ј200
V6 Engine Ј450
T3 Turbo Ј100
Nitros (twin Bottle) Ј350
Mk3 Dash Ј20
Rear Wings Ј20
paint/weld/sand Ј300
Bumper (sad orimental one but with my own plan to make it a stunna) Ј200
Bits and Bobs Ј200

Total Ј1840 over 12 months = Ј150 a month

i wouldnt like to start an arguement about which management is the best but it seems the flavour of the month just now is the Autronic stuff. seems pretty damn good with lots of toys aswell including traction/launch control.

a guy on mig called ATC sells this management so maybe he will reply with some more info.

Cheers animal.....just got there email also..
i will have to sell a few things to build up the cash supply...
i know the advance ecu's are expencive but you do get some good thing with them...and you can transfer a lot of these to other cars, so it might look pricey at first but in the long run i think its a good buy.

still waiting for a companie near wales to give me a quote for the rods...might have to get 8 rods because some places only do 4's.
the rear arches are done now...just finishing off the paint work and filling.
all welding is done...v6 hubs should be on the way also...shoud have some pics soon.

V6 hubs should be easy enough.. use the cav front legs, but with astra shocks and topmounts, or drill the astra topmounts to accomodate the larger diameter shock bolts...

for the rear, use a mk3 astra rear beam, then cav v6 rear hubs bolt straight on, you could even retain ABS if you wanted.

V6 Cav rear beam will go straight on too!!

20mm wider track though which may cause problems for wide tyres.

I have a cav rear beam on mine (4 stud) with 205/55/15s lowered 60-80mm, tyres occasionally rub inside the wing.

rather than you buying 8 rods and throwing 2 away, might be a good idea to buy 12 and go halves??

give me a ring when you find out how much they want

i'm gonna have a 9k rev limit

cheers guys....it took a bit of work doing the rear arches esp the inerarches...used some sheets of metal from an old filling cabinet which we curved and panel beated in to shape..the cabinet was a tenna down the scrap yard but gave us loads of good metal..the arches are now solid and not a drop of water can get in to them. also it helps if i want to stick a set of 18's or 19's on.
