hi gang....i have nearly finished the undercoating with 2k primmer and just need to tidy up a few areas with some fine filler. the mirrors, side skirts and bumpers have been done with plastic primer ready for the 2k paint. the front bumper looks good, standard with and omega bottom splitter blended in and both bumpers have had the bump strip removed and smoothed over, Haven't put anything on the rear bumper yet as i might nead to modify it for the exhaust. Also i have found that the company next door to were i work does plastic & powder coating... ...might have to drop my suspention off to them soon..

Evening gang
Started painting the car this weekend, looks good but it ahs shown up my 'Steve wonder' fillering, some of it is just small pin hole stuff, the rest is just plane sh*tty filling...i just cant get it perfect at the moment, were the panel is flat the fillering is perfect, but were the panel has a curve the marks show up real well, how good is the spray filler? will it get rid of most of this?? bar that problem eveything else looks perfect, pics shall be up in about 10 mins.

Spray filler will get rid of the pin holes, with repeated spraying and sanding, but it won't sort the shape.

Jamied, the info on tuning the very similar Vectra V6 is that turboing it is a no no. Apparently the rear bank of three overheats very easily because of being so far away from air flow and because the water cycles through the pistons in a strange order.

Are you looking to do a Saab style front bank only job?

Coming on nicely btw!

cooling has been a big problem in the v6's, im looking at putting in probaly a stronger external pump to move the water a bit quicker, would also oil spray bars help?? will never know until i give it a try any way. I sent of for the turbo piston rings today and should have them in a few days, as for the rods are the 3ltr one quite strong or can i swap them for a set of C20let steel rods?

I was reading about the cooling aspect of the v6's and it was said that moving the water around quicker might not have the best effect- as there is less time for heat to transfer to the water due to it passing through quicker? I'd be interested to know how you find it running.... seriously nice work so far

I've not read anything that says there is a problem with the V6 rods and strength. Other than that I'm the wrong person to ask

The 3.0's are known for letting rods exit through the block, but not snapping rods.

Still, if you're going to be doing this much work you might as well do the rods too?
