Fuel pump running? Red and blue wire must be the pump
Red let - 1998 2.0 16v turbo corsa, speedlines, depos, mig stickers
That's what I thought mate but there is a round male/female plug and rectangle male/female plug in the engine bay joined up and I'm sure there is wires in one of them with the same colours as the plugs in the foot well so its almost like they are extra

That's the 3 plugs with wires to get it running? lol
Single black one is fuel pump
Did the car have cruise control before?
Red let - 1998 2.0 16v turbo corsa, speedlines, depos, mig stickers
No cruse control.
Yes daz but where do they join as there is no thee "free" plugs to wire them to.
The single plug with red/blue in foot well is 100% fuel pump
I'm getting desperate now as need the car going today.
Any help much appreciated

Is it the fuel pump that's preventing engine start? Can't you run a switched 12v live to it for now to get you back on the road, and sort out the finer details later?
MIG Performance SAAB

It doesn't seem to make a difference even if I out 12v to it still won't start. The coil has power as does the fuel relay
I'm lost

So you have fuel and spark? I take it the XE was a runner before it went in?
There is power to the fuel relay, but is the relay switching and powering the pump? Immobiliser?

No there is NO fuel and NO spark. The fuel relay lights up when ignition on then when winding it over the second light flickers green some times. Assuming that's it switching over?.
The oil pressure gauge go's clean of the scale when ignition on and windows/sunroof works. Wing mirrors only move side to side not up and down not sure if this is any help?

Cut plugs off your ecotec loom where plug in on the inside and wire them colour for colour after cutting that 3 plugs off
You are not getting fuel and spark, when you applied 12v directly to fuel pump, it should start pumping fuel at the fuel rail, so check dat, can you hear a whirring noise from the pump when you apply 12v directly at the pump, remember one side of the fuel pump terminal should have a good earthing, from the looks of your car, it probably hasn't due to so much corrosion and rust on it.
What were you thinking when you bot this car.......I bet you kept thinking DTM ...DTM...DTM....and you didn't see how bad this girl was, full of rust!
So first, get fuel by force by applying 12v, try and hear the pump running or whirring,
then check at the fuel rail if you can get a squirt when you press on her nipple. Just watch your face when you do that it could poke staright into your eyes!
then check if you getting spark, no spark, then check ecu earths, check the crank sensor, is it wired properly, is it working? check if the cam sensor or if it is an xe engine then check the hall effect sensor is wired up in the distributer, is it wired correctly, is it working properly, is the rotor in ? is it wired up to the ecu? and so on. Oh and what about your fuel pump relay? is it wired up propwerly and is it even in? and red blue wire is the one that runs to fuel pump and the injector rail, these should go +12v when iginition is on and engine cranking. are they going +12v if not check FPR relay, or wiring to it from the ecu, but it won't come on unless the crank sensor and cam sensor or the hall effect sensor are ok.
good luck!
God does exist, to meet him, the price is quite high, he lives in 9th Dimension, to get there only your Soul can travel there at faster than the speed of light, first you will have to shed your physical body, then just hope you have got on the right highway to heaven.
See the sqaure plug in your picture above. One side is grey other is black. Im 90% sure that you have the astra wiring looms plug pluged into the calibra diagnostic plug. The plug on the calibr stays with nothing pluged into it. Where as your astra loom will need all of them ran back inside to the three plugs.
Tbh bud youd be quicker and would save head scratching just getting a cavalier or calibra xe loom. Itll be plug and play. Its worked in your astra cos it was out of the gte. Cav and calibra setups are slightly different.
yeah that had crossed my mind. i stripped another xe loom for the male plug that will replace the grey male so will have wires to go into foot well to join to those plugs also have spare plugs for the ones in the foot well. if that doesnt work i think i will just bite the bullet and buy a cally xe loom for it.
cheers man. here mind your brakes are still here![]()
