picked this up on saturday on the whole its all good so far :lmao: no real plan for it other than sort out the body work/paint and general bits and bobs then enjoy it
couple of pictures not the greatest but they will do for now.
All welded up and done without removing the dash and with out a any to watch for fires lol. I also managed to squash my pinkie finger a little bit but none the less the welding in the bay is done and the xe is in. Al put some pictures up in a min. I'm pretty disappointed with the condition of it but I have no choice but to try and keep it road worthy
It's not sorted by any means but its a start. I'm sure it's just a air/water utility hose 10bar working pressure hose. Its just for the oiwer steering so any thing would do really. It's blue but looks a little crap in that picture
And before I dropped the xe in a gave it a quick going over just as well as the cam belt had a split in it but I had a brand new boxed one sitting so that was handy lol.
I need to get a pipe from the servo to the inlet mani and wire it up and fit rad and probably weld in a section of exhaust
That is scrapping the barrel using garden hose to cover wiring but I guess it does the job. Yeah fingers crossed there is no more welding like this to be done but based on recent events I won't be holdon my breath with tho one ha.
I'm just worried I get stuck with wiring. There is plugs in the foot well but the xe loom I have doesn't have any of the plugs other than ecu one that goes to the foot well
Your right mate but what I can see being a problem is in the drivers foot well there is 3 plugs calibra dash loom. But on the xe loom the only plug that goes into the foot well is the ecu plug nothing else
I'm not so sure on it looking good but fingers crossed mate I can have it up and runing tomorrow and if I mange that it will give me time to run it to make sure I'm not going to have any more problems.
That's what I thought mate but there is a round male/female plug and rectangle male/female plug in the engine bay joined up and I'm sure there is wires in one of them with the same colours as the plugs in the foot well so its almost like they are extra
There is no other plugs for the wires in the foot well to join to so I am confused as to where they are suppose to be joined can any one shed some light on this for me please
Is it the fuel pump that's preventing engine start? Can't you run a switched 12v live to it for now to get you back on the road, and sort out the finer details later?
