Vectra b Gsi Project...

Hi everybody thought i would start a thread on my newish project.. The car is a 1999 Vectra GSI with 194000 miles which should make interesting, it needs the usual front bumper repaint,wheel refurb and the odd bit rust doing allthough the rust isn't as bad as some,and a bad engine misfire. I know that most people think i'm nuts but the car holds sentimental value as it brought my wife to our wedding in 2003 when i first bought it. i sold it in 2009 to my sister-in-law who ran till july last year and parked it up because it needed to much work to pass the mot so I bought it back as a project because I thought it would be cool to own it for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Jobs to do when i picked it up.

Front Bumper Repaint.
Wheel Refurb.
New Tyres all Round
New Springs and Dampers
New Front Wishbones
New Front Drop Links and Top Mounts
New Coil Pack, Plug Leads and Plugs.
Big Service and New Cambelt
Air-Con Recharge and Prob 101 other jobs.



Jobs done so far.

Cured misfire with new coil pack,leads and plugs.
2 rear brake calipers because they were both seized.
Steel Braided brake hoses all round.
Spax adjustable suspension kit.
New front wishbones and drop links.
Full engine service and cambelt.
Higher fuel pressure regulater.

I'd be interested to here what you guys think ..

I used to own a phase one gsi.....in star silver, good strong car...had a little rust on the rear arches and a very chipped front bumper...but all in all...I loved it. Keep us posted.
