Would be pretty cool to see a 1400 on throttle bodies. Sticks to cheap tax band and saves all the drama of paperwork associated with a 1600/1800/2000 transplant. Still not a cheap route but would be pretty cool. Given the way tax and fuel is at the moment and will be in the future, I think small block engines will come into their own. 150-160bhp is more than enough. It's a light car and very chuckable (should be in the dictionary if it isn't).
Tri-spokes are actually quite cool given they are essentially a retro rim now. Would look better in a darker colour if you kept them for the sake of novelty.
Would ditch the flushed tailgate and go back to a standard item.
2nd hand gearbox. Sell the home brew manifold for some funds towards something better.
Any straight enough motor has potential. Just depends on whether it's a project for you to pass some time/get into a magazine or a fixer upper to sell on. If the latter, don't go wild. You never get the returns................
"When this baby hits 88 miles per hour. You're gonna see some serious s***"!!!!!!
top reply... i dont think its worth doing up to sell, no one would apriatiate the work. It'd sell for about 600-700 MAX done up to hell and be screwed into the ground by some kid. I want it to be a project car i think il own untill the day it rotts away......
Compression test showed good on all 4 cylinders, cold and hot, pretty much exact reading accross all 4. I think it would really produce with the correct setup
It sits nice on the powerband atm with that home brew...
