right where to start lol, i bought the car back in august of last year from a friend, he bought it from a friend of his, whilst being on a ban with the intentions of doin it up for when he got his license back, he got bored of staring at it, not really knowing much about cars so i bought it...for a very good price considering the goodies it came with, it had the xe conversion, cage, wheels and the brakes (which i only found out when i got it home)

The shell was very tatty and needed a few new panels, a bootlid, 2 new doors and a bonnett, the doors were both rotten and the drivers was half mat black for some reason, the bootlid had a big dent in it and the bonnett was a lovely f50 vented carbon item which i wasnt too impressed with lol it needed a good clean and tidy up in general.

it didnt stay like this for long, as soon as i got it home i set about sourcing the new panels it needed, gave it a good clean and had the wheels refurbed and painted black, managed to get the doors cheap on ebay and they were black and they were mint so a lil trip to luton and i had em..got a white bonnett from the local scrappie...anything was better than the carbon sh*t imo lol..

haha remember that bonnett...

...it got cut up

i smoked it about for a couple of weeks whilst i was collecting parts for her..

the parts grew, i had the intention of running 45 delortos but quickly gave that idea up n thought i should do it properly...

all these bits bar the carbs got fitted almost immediately...

i then decided to have the car resprayed as it was a bit tatty as previously mentioned and the doors were slightly different colours so had it all blowed over, whilst it was being painted i thought id take the oppurtunity to take the cage out and have an x diagonal welded in rather than the single diagonal that comes with omp cages as for more strength and also looks alot better imo..

and painted..

i got it back from the painters the day before the action day at castle coombe, where me and my good ol' mate barry (flat out on here) worked all throught the night getting the car ready for the drive to coombe, drove to coombe, got inspired by a few throttle bodied xe's, drove home and stripped the car lol, at first i was just goin to rerlocate the battery to the boot but got carried away and started painting the bay and tidying up the loom, stripped the rockerand cambelt covers and had them painted up...

which look good with the full roose motorsport hose kits i purchased...

batt tray removed...

then theses bad boys were offered to me...

whilst i gathered all the other bits i needed for the conversion, i set about stripping the interior of its seats and frames, it was very tatty and the previous owner had only stripped half of the sound deadening lool so me and baz spent the day removing, cleaning and prepping for paint....

baz...

i then started to get a nice pile of goodies ready to go on...

this is basically how it sits now, got the 90mm trumpets and fibreglass bonnett on, just need a loom made up from sbd and its start up time....

Yer gonna get the car running first then prob book it into longlife or summin...need to get the lambda boss welded on as well!!

Cool project. How did you get the side wall away from the lip of the rim? Need to do something similar on mine to spray them but don't want to go to the effort of having them fully removed.

Cheers mate, my pal works for a chips away type company that do wheel refurbs n that on ur doorstep...so he had a tyre peeler in his van!!

Got my coil mount bracket today, gonna spend some the day working on it on sat if ya wanna pop up? Might do the arps if I get time but defo wanna clean the brakes and coilovers up as they looking a bit tatty...

right, only a little update, spent a few hours on her yesterday, i wanted to clean up the coilovers and brakes as they were lookin very sorry for themselves n jus been bothering me for a while so had all the suspension of f the car and in a gunk bath lol....couldnt get any before pics as the mrs went shoppin and took my phone by mistake

pics dont really do it justice lol the coilys were rotten!! anyway a few pics...

before....an old pic i had (not the best but you get the idea)....

and after..

gonna order some new disks this week and that should see em looking sweet

spent a few more hours today, changing the standard rod bolts to arp jobbies, i had a spare set of xe pistons and rods kickin about with arps attached so thought id put em to good use.

the spares....

got her up as high as i could on axle stands...

drained the oil, removed sump, baffle plate and standard bolts then torqued up the arps...

then came indoors and had a sort out of the car bits/spare room and nearly forgot i had these..

fibreglass bootlid with bonded in polycarb rear screen..

just need it painted

and these carbon fibre front door cards...

that is all

It a few more bits...

Aero catches for the fibreglass bootlid (which is in bein painted)

Got my new 4pin coil pack on the sbd bracket....

And a set of new harnesses.

Should receive my new disks hopefully tomoz or Monday so more updates soon..
