We have started a new project here in Holland. We wanted to replace our MK3 Astra kitcar for a new one. After a long search we came to the conclusion that a Mk4 whas the best option, we can reuse a lot of parts. The first step is to build the chassis, Tom Geenen who drives in rallycross (500hp Corsa C ) builds the chassis for us because we are in a tight time schedule. The chassis is brand new and Tom bought it by Opel Antwerp a few years ago, so no old chassis with painting, damage or other unwanted stuff. The bodykit is almost entirely made of fiberglass. Only the bonnet ( need strength for the light bar ) doors ( safety ) and talegate (faster to open incase of a flat tire) are made of normal steel)
We have a 260HP C20XE engine 5 speed dogbox (still searching for a sequential 6 speed, if someone has one for sale please let me know )
How does a MK4 kitcar look? Like this! Bad ass!
Now here some pictures,
The rearwheel drive rallycross car of Tom Geenen
The building of our chassis
Stripping of the donor car
Some new parts, cup mirrors and a OBP pedalbox
Strengthening the chassis
Doors in fresh primer
Fiberglass bodyparts
Nose starting to look like something, bumper isn't finished, lower part is missing
