Not going to be the greatest project thread of all time but i thought i would share what i have been up to with you all
Hears the starting point a 2000 White Mk 4 Astra SRi 2L Ecotec Engine.

I have owned this car since 2005 and in that time have covered nearly 60000 miles however with fuel costs decided to get myself a diesel as i commute over 500miles a week.
However some sort of sentimental decision ment no matter what i just couldnt come to get rid of my astra so with no MOT or tax and been sat for over a year and a half i decided to take her round the back and give her a good sorting out!
1st stop give the old wheels a new lease of life
Shot blasted and powder coated in white to match the car

and even got the lowering springs sprayed up to match

whilst i was on a painting mission i replaced the drivers door handle with a rear offside one from the scrappy so to remove the lock hole and then colour coded them both
After all the exterior work i gave the insides a good clean and decided to replace the rear grab handles with the illuminated ones again a scrappy bargain (theres a theme hear)
After all that hard work and reading up on some project threads on hear i decided to take the plunge and:
Whipped the Engine Out!
Wasnt quite sure yet on what i was going to replace it with? it was either going to be C20XE or X20LET both quite expensive to source a good one.
But then this showed up
X30XE from an MV6 Omega Ex Police interceptor 3L V6 Power
i had to strip it out myself from the car sat on the blokes front lawn (not good when using an engine crane) but the car had 178000 miles on it however had a recipt from the force for the replacement engine at 86500 miles so new engine had less than 100000 miles on it Bounus it was a steal at £150!
Sat next to the car waiting to go in.
however i have to sort a few bits first on the list are
From the X25XE
inlet plenums
sump
sensors and ECU inc key chip
offside 2 piece driveshaft (to reduce tourqe steer)
and loads of various hoses belts and bits and bobs to bolt it all together
