    GSI project

i thought i would start a bit of a progress thread this time, so here goes...
ive just bought a Polar Sea Blue 94' GSI in a state of dis-repair that deserved to be rescued.
    SPEC:
    2.0 REDTOP
    17" Dare V2's
    full Scorpion stainless
    Calibra Leather
    Tinted Windows
    lowered 35mm on G-Max
    Cav Turbo Clocks
    Pipercross filter
    Sparco Braces FRONT & REAR
    130K
    just before i got it

the Car was kind-of mid rebuild when i took ownership 2 weeks ago, it had been resprayed in Dark-Mica blue & then abandoned.

so my 1st jobs were to remove all the trim / bumpers / plastics & seals etc... and get a good look @ the new pain
after finding all the problems & damage it was time to start colour sanding (2000) the whole car (4-days Worth) !

also stripping the front end and tidying some surface rust with wire wheels & kurust, followed by galvanising paint & a black finish.

then rebuld the front end & try and make the bumper fit properly, some new brackets & a little modification etc... had it looking like a factory fit again

followed by more wet sanding (2500)

then it was time to break the polisher out, i'm getting a good friend of mine to do this for me because im useless at it!

we managed to get the full side of the car done in around 4 hours...
i also half tinted the rear light's just to make the red stand out a little more !

3 different stages of polishing etc..
where i left it today... still looking a little sorry for itself but on the road to recovery
i will keep this thread updated with every step of the rebuild

It came from birtley mate, and it honestly looks like glass where it's polished.. Unfortunately the odd shallow dent on the top of the wings but nothing massive, can't wait to get it all back together !

    Re: GSI project

Not really. It's a forum post he "wrote" not a text massage.

The odd spelling mistake or typo is understandable but that crap is just plain lazy.

    Re: GSI project

Not sure I'd see any benefits from a text massage as such. :-)

Depends on if the posts were "written" on a QWERTY keyboard with two hands or if used on a smart phone I guess. I've tried replying to posts on the latter before and I won't be trying again. CHORE! I can understand people cutting corners.

Smart looking GSi that! Amazing how much better they look polished properly!

    Re: GSI project

The finish when polished is almost flawless, I suppose the 4 days of colour- sanding did pay off !
