Get yer lie low out mate and get underneath it!!!!
Best way to learn is to do it yourself mate, im no mechanic but i've now done a few engine changes & still learning. Plenty of people on here to help if ya need it![]()
nice work!
A did get my lie low out, a was under it at weekend, still got covered in mud though
Aye man a enjoy learning something knew, I am no mechanic either but I refuse to put my car into a garage, better trying it myself and seeing how I get on.
Best way![]()
Not had time to upload pictures cause am doing 13 hour shifts at work. My brother is wanting my corsa out now so he's going to help us at the weekend, hope to get it finished with his help
Good bit of effort going into this, nice to see, not fun working outside in crap weather![]()

Corsa GSi Long Term Project >> http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...project-9.html
Nice work so far! I have never attempted an engine swap. Anything goes wrong on my car and i'll do my best to fix it myself. But an engine swap is too big of a job atm for me. By the end of summer I'm hoping to attempt it though! Either c20xe or let. Let will cost a heck of a lot more though!Keep up the good work!
Car List; Rover 400 (for a laugh) --- Fiat Grande Punto (first proper car) --- Corsa B 1.2 16v --- Corsa B 1.4 SRi --- Corsa B 1.4 16v Sport (daily) --- Secret Project car (pictures upon finish! Or at a meet)
Yea it used to be same for me wouldnt of attempted it two years ago but just got more confident as time goes on, a let is something i am hoping to do next year but doubt it will be on this corsa.
Looking at another car the now a mark 3 astra gsi redtop with bottom end failure, but due to corsa taking up driveway space and me having no time to fix it think my local garage will be taking on that job.
7 days later I have built up a little bottle and going to look at getting all the parts needed. Is it straight forward-ish? As I will be hoping to get it started march/april time ready for the summer!

Fair play to you for messing with it in the cold, wet rain and mud. I don't think I could do that. I'm a fairweather modder lol!
Yea the c20xe is pretty straight forward and parts are easily available. Mine was easier cause someone else done the hard work of the conversion. Give it a shot mate there's loads of people on here to help and I will do my best to help if you need any. My recommendation would be to buy a doner car Calibra, Astra etc then you can rob loads from it and know the engine runs. Good luck if you do attempt it.
It's got to be done, no dry days where I stay, it's actually that wet they built a hydro power station next to my house lol
Thanks!

A small update this is where i am at now not much more left to be done but even moving the car lengthways on the drive it still didnt gain me access under it due to water.
And my collection of exhaust bits
I also have my cesaros back from kwik fit with yokohama parada spec 2 tyres fitted.
And waiting on my new car geting fixed, a nice purple corsa sport just as a run around till mine finished
Finally after 3 months of working on the corsa on and off tonight it fired up into life, was so happy that it had actually worked.
Got few wee issues with a high idle and a blown exhaust, but overall very pleased.
nice one! Its a proud moment![]()
Yea such a good feeling hearing that Redtop noise again, been a while.
Jake took a video so I will get him to upload it at somepoint
Well after months off the road the corsa finally left my dads drive under it's own steam. Such a good feeling driving it again, few problems to sort out but these are minor issues to sort along the way.
top lad! Well done mate!

Cheers mate but it didnt last long, 4 days to be exact and with moving house and work I havnt had the time to properly look at it.
Managed to get half an hour at it today and found that the rotor arm isn't spinning due to a plastic bit in the cam housing being snapped ( no idea what it's called ) I have now replaced it and hope it will fire back into life tonight.
My exhaust also snapped off so that will need welded aswell
quick fix FTW! Really hope it makes crail![]()
feel your pain doing a corsa xe conversion in the winter in scotland .... oh boys she was chilly then the rain came ! haha good work though![]()
just hang in there
you will get it finished soon enough
Well the corsa hasn't moved in a month, took it off the road to fix the wee niggles I rushed and havnt had time to do anything. Only thing I managed to do was empty it of all the spares and general crap, rolling road day in under a month so a better get cracking![]()
Im in the same situation, soooo much to do, so little time!
