Now its all up & running thought i'd put a few pics up of the engine back together & what it looks like at the min. Moved the battery into the passenger footwell & put the steering column back on (got rid of epas) just need to put the dash back in & take the back seats out, get the bumper & bonnet back on & should be ready to roll. Having a full day on it on saturday so should be done just in time for the east mids meet

Your getting there buddy!! iv changed my mind about mine now lol im putting the corsa b front end back on. One thing i will say is watch them jubilee clips when i was using them with about 14 psi of boost the intercooler pips kept popping off! this is what im using now and iv not had any problems with them......2x 2.5" Hose Clips Exhaust Intercooler BOLT T CLAMPS | eBay
Yea mate nearly there! I prefer the standard 'b' look personally. Will it be ready for the east mids meet? For parts you're best going to loomsy's in derby mate, really cheap for parts. Im not sure what boost i'll be running yet but i'm gonna get some of them clamps, i need a single boost pipe cuz whoever had it before me bodged a load of pipes & joints so not the best anyway, don't seem to leak tho :/
Yea so do i mate dont know why i ever changed it!? no i dont think it will be done for the jan meet im hopeing it will be done for the rolling road day
Also does your bumper go back on mate or have you got to cut some of the bumper out?
No my bumpers gone back on fine mate,feel free to come & have a look or i'll come & give you a hand if ya like.
all 4 wheels are back on the floor now with everything tight! It finally moved yesterday, all of about 4ft but its a start!

Went to the scrap & got a dash for £20 so just got that to fit now & it'l be back on the road, providing the weather's alright! Lol
Thanks for the offer mate! I just wanted to make sure the bumper fits ok because im sure the intercooler im getting is the same as yours and I wanted to make sure my bumper will go on ok. Your getting there now then! I know what your saying about the weather...everytime I go outside to do some work on the car it starts to bloody rain!! Lol
Yea my intercoolers small but its quite thick, bumpers gone on with no problems, apart from it missin a tab on 1 side, trying to figure out how to hold it in place. Yea were in the wrong country for nice weather really but never mind, looked gloomy today but got done what i needed to. Just wanna get it out on the road & see if its running alright. Still need an adjustable fpr but i'll get 1 sometime soon
Yea I think I need a new one I got one of eBay for about £25 and my fp chargers on its own!? Lol
Braved the -2 weather today & got the dash in & got it back on the road, fitted my mbc but didnt run right so stuck the amal back in & now its running fine at about 11psi so happy daysfew progress pics, still got to suss out where the external fuel pump is wired up to cuz its not working anymore :/ also i have no brake lights & no temp guage, there's a black plug in the passenger footwell with a yellow & black cable & another cable, is this the brake sensor cable? Also theres a blue cable near the thermostat but not sure where it goes :/ jobs for the morning before i go to the east mids meet, done just in time
I know what your saying about the weather i was out at 9.30 this morning changing the alternator on my astra cuz that went last night and wot a bitch it was the to get out! Had to drop the sub fram a bit and take a drive shaft out! Now im £130 down! Not happy

Alternators can be a **** on a lot of Vauxhalls. Even a Vectra B 1.8 has to have shaft out!

Well update time: Went on a decent drive today & drove fine, not as quick as it should be but never the less, it runs. Bad things are that the oil seals are gone on the turbo so its smoking a bit, & arrived at the east mids meet to discover oil everywhere! Blown the rocker cover gasket so that needs sorting! I'll leave this turbo on for the rr day on the 18th feb & then go for something bigger & powerful after that, so mixed day really lol
Make sure none of the breather pipes are blocked mate, when the rocker cover is off clean all the baffle plate down make sure there's no crap blocking anything because this could make it smoke, did you see the engine running before you fitted it in your car?
No i didnt mate but it smoked a bit on my old engine so presume it is the turbo. Smokes on boost & hot idle
Right, well its all fun & games at the minute, changed the rocker cover gasket & took it out for a blast, still oil pissing out from somewhere & the turbo's getting worse, still boosting fine though. Then when i started it up again it had a horrible misfire! Checked all the usual things like spark etc. then my mate said 'i wonder if its slipped a tooth' i thought it was unlikely but checked anyway....omg!
So as you can see it's slipped about 4 teeth, re-timed it up & turned it over for a second & it slipped again, looks like the tensioners gave up so i've decided to strip it all down & do everything that needs doing like change the turbo, sort the oil leak, change the cambelt kit. Also my brake pedal is very spongy because i have 308's running on a standard servo so im going to fit 256's so i get a good pedal & so i can fit some smaller alloys because my camber is ridiculous on my 17's & it handles like a boat! I'm gonna fit coilies on it aswell so a lot of stuff to do but i'm just aiming for the allvxl show in april. Will post pics when i get started, probably this weekend
Bit of an update, sorted the oil leak, was a loose connection on the oil cooler. Replaced my 308's for a 256mm setup so i get a harder pedal as the others were too big for the servo. Wanted some redstuff pads but sutton auto factors dont do them anymore,i asked anyway just incase, he said no so i asked for mintex & this is what he brought out to me
Asked him how much & he winked & said i'll sort you out (sounds horny, it wasnt) so i got these redstuff pads for the price of mintex, about £13
Also got the discs to match & got calipers off nemesis so went back to fit them & to change my cambelt, also removed my turbo to make way for my new 1 next week, heres a few pics of progress & it in bits....again!
Also hated having 17's & due to smaller brakes i can have smaller wheels
Will update next week when hopefully it'l be roadworthy again lol

Engine is now timed up and is running fine, unbelievably i havent bent anything so its all good
Have you painted the pads as the Redstuff pads are normally all Red. The ones that are black are the basic Ultimax normally? (one down from greenstuff)
No mate, thats what i thought but i checked the box & it said they were the reds :/ i'll soon find out anyway if theyre dogsh*t, i was quite prepared to pay full wack for em but i'll see what these are like
Thats one of the cleanest crossmembers I've seen on a Corsa mate, even my x-reg was worse than that! And every other one I've seen! Looks tidy!
I reckon limited slip diff, F28, equal length shafts and R888's would be the best money spent next!
