    Re: My Nova Project

Over xmas I dug a few more bits of the Nova out. I found some of my SVA compliant nut and bolt head covers left over from the kit car so I stuck them one for attention to detail.

I put the tiebar brackets on backwards! Doh! The disadvantage of building a car from memory.

I also decided to put the C16XE on bike carbs. I was doing a bit of junk clearing in the garage and found an EDIS, coilpack, leads and RST wiring loom so going to use a mega jolt setup and asked Tom Reid to make me a suitable manifold so looking forward to getting that around early spring. It should make the whole installation of the engine very neat and minimal which I like the idea of.

This morning I put a deposit down on a car. Looks a minter so hopefully by Sunday evening it will be sat on my drive.

Well not a lot to update pics wise apart from putting a deposit down on this. Thanks for Will F for getting in touch with the details.

All being well it will be sat on my drive Sunday evening.

They are the FK springs George, so probably about 60-70mm on the back.

Looks like a good. one. Shame its an early one, being so mint as the trims will be riveted on.

Im sure i have a pair of GTE bumpers in that colour somewhere.

Are youou referring to the door side trims Craig? Ah I knew there would be something to stop my plans being easy. Ah well, with having the arches rolled and the locks taken off the doors it will be seeing paint at some point anyway so just a little extra work I guess.

PM me a price on the silver bumpers. Will need to grab a set at some point.

Well after a four hour train ride. A quick spin in Wills awesome turbo saloon and then a four hour drive home I'm the owner or a really solid honest spin. It was a pleasure to drive in all it's 1.2, 4 speed glory.

I had a tough choice this morning. Brave it in the Nova or take the Mini with it's heated seats and windscreen... I chose the Nova

I took some decent pictures of it too.

Sports had different carpet and door-cards, so its only really the dash carcass which can be used on a restoration.

Oh and the headlining as long as it has no rear seatbelts or shirt hooks / grab handles. But i guess you would be keeping that in anyway

P.S, Bumpers will be with you on friday afternoon Simon.

Na sports dont have any doorpockets. and no centre consul so annoyingly those carpets have holes underneath it.

    Re: My Nova Project

Thanks for the comments. I'm still not sure on what colour I'm going to do. (more on that further down) Selling of the bits is going pretty well. I have made nearly half my money back once a few of the sales complete as planned.

Not much to report really. I have been part hunting though.

Bought some weld in seat rail kits

Some GTE bumpers thanks to Craig

Also an SR grill and Euro rear light with fog. I'm also off to grab a set of the Astra GSi fan blade wheels from a mate this weekend.

I wasn't sure how it would all look together but found this on another thread.

I'm not sure what do do with the car colour wise.
Silver with grey bumpers and wheels.
    All silver with silver wheels
    All silver with grey wheel
Or stick to my original plan... All grey with blue wheels.

    Couple of quick photoshops!

A Corsa but you get the colour scheme idea

Exactly what i would do. With grey door handles and mirrors.

I used to have one just like it (on 26k). Living with the boot lock will do your head in

    Re: My Nova Project

Was hoping for more of a unanimous decision on what style to go for. I do find Silver a little boring I must admit. Maybe some grey and blue will break it up a bit.

I had my euro light, grill and bumpers turn up today so will be busy messing with them this weekend. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I will have some wheels too. I best get tyre shopping. I'm a big fan of the Yokohama Parada but not of 195/50 profile. I've heard good things about the Toyo T1R and they come in a 195/45 profile.
