As quite a few people on here know, I have a 35K Cavalier Calibre, and have a project thread of a previous Calibre I restored last year on here too.
I am a die-hard Calibre fan but this really is something just as special in it's own way.
I have been gathering parts for it, and I am trying to resist from buying new parts... Which doesn't seem to be working ;D
I have been generally tidying it up, my cousin was down recently and we managed to get it running, after a previous owner ran it on diesel.
Think the engine is a goner, one lifter was floating in the cam housing plus there was quite alot of blue smoke.
This has mega rare factory fitted electric windows all round, central locking and power steering ;D
Here are some pictures for you guys...
I also found this mega cool drawing whilst cleaning it out ;D
Got back yesterday evening after a 420mile round trip for a £40 SEH engine, hardly seems worth it lol, nonetheless, SEHs are getting scarce so
it was worth it.
Found a brand new genuine blue/grey saloon bumper, still in the original GM packaging ;D
The original has rusted away on the mounts and isn't in the best of condition...
New genuine aerial...
Managed to get hold of two new foglights...
New headlight wiper blades...
The front middle skirt has two screw holes in it, so I thought what is the point in just buying the middle one, so bought the rest of them new too ;D
And also managed to source a brand new rear 130 skirt set too, with new clips ;D
Will update this thread as I go along![]()
