    C18XE powered tigra.

Seeing as my Saab tigra idea failed ive decided to use the engine out of the astra that the Saab engine ended up going in to power my tigra. The car is done and ready for the engine so I've been working on the engine getting it ready for fitting.
Started by changing the timing belt for a new gates one including tensioner and rollers, new water pump, oil & filter and spark plugs. That's as far as I'm going to go with the engine apart from a 4 branch manifold to replace the cast manifold that comes with the engine.
As the tigra has been converted to non-pas I've removed to pas pump from the engine. Should improve rev response a tiny bit as there's less resistance.
I'm going to use a flat tigra flywheel and an f 13 gearbox.

More info and specs to follow.
    Cheers

    Re: C18XE powered tigra.

Not really taken many pics recently but we've made loads of progress with the engine. I'm just drilling the flywheel then that's done. The Clutch will follow then the gearbox (f13) then it's a case of dropping it in and measuring up a mount. Only got the 1 pic to add but that shows the engine back together with new t/belt, tensioner and idlers, w/p etc and a bit of paint!

Is the F13 going to be strong enough to cope with the C18XE?

I'm thinking it will be fine mate, I've heard of a few people running them on C20XE's. Only time will tell

Not sure mate, if you send me 1 I could try it and let you know! Not sure where to get some low comp pistons but I'd definitely be interested in a turbo conversion at some point.

It wouldn't be far off. The Z20LET is basically just a X20XEV + turbo in loose terms.

Got a few more bits done tonight, re-drilled the flywheel to fit, bolted the clutch on and scrubbed the gearbox. Then gave it a quick coat of silver wheel paint to finish it off.
