    Nova SRi Replica.

Back in November last year, i aquired a Mk2 1.2i nova from a friend that had a snapped cambelt.

It sat in my garage till february of this year whilst I decided what I wanted to do with it.

Here's a few pics of its condition which i was quite impressed with for a 18year old vauxhall.

    N/S rear arch

    N/S turret

    Battery tray

    O/S flame pink

    Re: Nova SRi Replica.

I then decided to do an SRi replica, so bought a engine, box, ECU and loom from a Corsa B SRi for £180, also bought a set of Gmax 60mm shocks and springs for £80.

    Fitted the engine:

Pic of the car overall, yes it needs a good polish and wax.

    Standard very grubby 1.2i interior.

Seats and door cards removed and carpet cleaned.

Fitted SRi seats and door cards. Need a set of brackets before I can fit the rears as the base models dont have the split 60/40 brackets in the car.

    Lowered 60mm.

Corsa D 14" steels with almost new michelins from ebay at £20.

Painted the same as SRi steels.

Thats brings us up to date.

Today I messed about correcting the mileage on a set of SRi dials (again from ebay £10.49) to match the original car mileage.

Nice one, you've just given me a great idea about some wheels. Thanks.

Should look good with a polish and decals.

    Re: Nova SRi Replica.

    Slight change of plan...

The fuel pipe from the pump split when I was fitting the replacement pump.

I've decided that seeing as im going to be keeping this for a few years, now is a good time to tidy the bottom of the car up, with a few coats of hammerite.
So first thing I removed is the tank, the exhaust and rear beam will be next once I get some brake pipe spanners.

Had a hour or so on it tonight fighting with rusty bolts and brake pipe joints, I removed the rear beam and tank so it's now ready to clean up, waxoyl and hammerite.

To say im shocked at how clean this is for a 18year old car is a understatement

Started painting a few days ago, still need to finish the wheel well/three other arches and rest of floor pan...

    Fuel tank painted

Floor pan painted and tank fitted

O/S rear arch and filler neck painted

Gave the panel a quick wipe over an polish to see how badly faded it is...

Coming along well, will you be polishing the out sides up or re-painting them?

Gonna polish it as best as I can, the bottom half will be going grey and rub strips put on once the few bits of rust are sorted.
