Cheers guysstarting to feel like im getting somewhere now...
Strip the beam down and painted it black.
Back plates painted black and drums painted silver and beam built back up and under ready to go on.
N/S rear arch painted.
Need to get the arch sorted, but will be building the back end back up first and moving onto the front...
Bought a few bits I needed, the rear shoes and wheel cylinders are in good condition so left them as they were, the handbrake cable was stretched and starting to fray so replaced those and the front ball joints for peace of mind.
Brake cables.
Fitted onto cable adjuster/joiner.
Rear beam, shock absorbers and springs fitted and cable adjusted to 4 clicks.
Rear wheels on.
Shot of the underside from rear of car.
Almost finished painting the floorpan, then onto the final hurdle the front inner wings, bleed the brakes and book MOT once the welding has been done..
lookin good mate novas allways do make fun cars
Looking very good. Keep up the good work.
Got the exhaust fitted back up today, started first time but now the coolant is pressurising. Hoping its a airlock but not looking likely...
good work on the floor plan and inner arches there, coming along nicely
Cheers for all the comments guys
Finished off the floor pan and fitted the heat shields and exhaust back on.
Removed the o/s wing and cleaned and painted the inner arch.
Next up is to do both outer cv boot's and clean/paint the n/s arch...

Just a quickie, how've you taken your wing off. Some blighter has dented mine whilst I was at the cinema a couple of weeks ago. Looked into taking it off last weekend, undid all the bolts running down the engine bay, and felt for more around the inside of the arch. But can't feel any, almost like my wing has been welded on along the back where it meets at the passenger door. But there are no tell tale welding lines when I open the door to look at the edge of it.
Under the dash is a shelf. Remove this (screw either side underneath) and the plastic shelf support to the left or right (depends what side wing you want to remove). Behind the shelf support will be 2 x 10mm bolts, remove these and outside at the bottom of the wing nearest the door will be a bolt on the sill, take that out. Two more you've not mentioned are under the wing toward the front of the car where the wing meets the front panel. Last one is under the grill behind the bumper, then the wing should come of. If you need anymopre help, I'll link you to a haynes diagram when I'm next near a pc.
Not updated this for months due a family member passing away in August aged 23.
I've been collecting parts for it, set of hub caps from a Astra van which will need painting to match the wheels, window surrounds (still to collect the drivers door surrounds from PaulWar), sr rub strips, new genuine drivers headlight, electric windows and a alarm. Also I have ordered a passenger arch repair panel from Hadrian.
I've gone halves on a mig welder with my brother in law to do the few bits of welding and he wants to build a bike engine'd go kart.
Yesterday I removed both wings as the passenger inner arch still needs painting and the drivers side didn't line up properly which now sits perfect. I was surprised to find no rot on the passenger inner arch/splash panel so that's good. Only bits that need welding are the passenger rear arch and inner arch has a small hole and the front panel needs a few plates.
I'm hoping to get a few hours on it each night over the next few days so should be a few updates coming...

Not to bad really. Sorry to hear about the family member.

Thanks Benn.
The rear arch turned up today, need to cut it down and get that welded on soon.
Also cleaned up the inner wing and gave it the first coat of Hammerite.

Glad your cracking on.

Had a good sort out of my garage and cleared a load of rubbish/junk. It's surprising how much you store/chuck in the garage over a year! Enough to fill four black bags and approx 50kg of scrap metal/alloy.
Anyway whilst the wing was off from painting the inner wing, I thought I'd polish it seeing as I still have my mates G220 buffer.
