Got into the garage for a bit tonite. Wanted to get the sideskirts fitting. When i done the quarters i bought gsi ones, so the bits for the clips are there but on the sills theres nothing cause its only a merit shell. So what ive done is used clips out my work off under car splash guards. So i needed to drill holes with a 8mm drill and file then out to be 8x10mm took a while lol. Need to get more screws and clips. Turned out great. Can get the underside of the sill primed then undersealed.

Got in the garage today, more just messing around really. Started cleaning up the welds, some are a bit lumpy. My plan was to smooth the whole lot, but i'm crap with catalou (spelling) and goin to be to expensive in a bodyshop for that. So just goin to run a beed of sealer along the welds. Some random pics.

    Re: Project 4x4 astra

Not updated in a while, been doing small things but no pics for them. Finished fitting the gsi side skirts, bought the rivets for the clips so the skirts are on properally. and all secure and look great. Cant find gsi doors so thats a problem the now. Thursday nite started striping the wiring loom of the car down to get rid of any wires dont need ie radio etc. Used the haynes manual i bought worked out great. Today started to wire up the race tech dash2 to. Got to fit the fuse box somewhere then can run the wires where i want them and solder and heat shrink them. slowly getting there and looking great. Also fitted the ign switch for the Astra steering colmun just need to make a bracket to secure it. Well happy.

    Re: Project 4x4 astra

Rite well tonite mounted the switch panel, not bolted it yet, but made brackets were its goin to go i think. So then started wiring the switches up, bottom left is side lights, bottom middle is head lights and bottom right is the fog, the 2 above will be fan switches with blue led warning lights, the red and amber leds at the top are the management light and oil light, thot would be best to have them. What use think?

    Re: Project 4x4 astra

Well i have been working on the Astra but not update this, (camera was flat) I have done loads to the wiring, got everything out that i don't need, also removed the big multi plugs on the passenger side, didn't think i needed them. Also i have been buying lots of parts, the 2 doors that i needed, a Tx Autosport rad,(getting it moded for mounting it, 2x 9in kenlowe cooling fans, a universal intercooler and sensors from race tech for the dash, (oil press, boost press and speed sensor), new calibra sender unit for the tank, braided pipe and fittings for sender and return and vectra b door handles. Tonite i mounted the intercooler, hopefully in the right place, didn't get my rad back today hopefully the morro, then can c if the fans will fit in.
