the lower the number the more the wheels stick out, so a et40 would be even worse....

what discs are you using? sounds like you need alot deeper bells.

i will be running 355mm with massive 11inch long aston martin brembos, and they fit fine behind my 18s

Im a bit confused mate, how would a et40 be worse? iv got et35 on now so wouldn't a et40 not stick out as much? iv got evo 7 discs on it, if i was to have some bells made up i could only have the discs about 10mm deeper any more and it would hit the hub...what et are your wheels mate?

et49 is the normal offset so et40 would rub

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

Well had a really busy day today! finished the arches off rubbed the front bumper down and primed that, fitted 2 new cv boots because both on the passenger side drive shaft had spilt and got grease everywhere iv also modified the passenger side tie bar so its not hitting the gearbox now, i did have the tie bar lowering kit fitted but the tie bar still hit the gearbox, im not 100% sure on the bar iv modified it is really strong but im thinking about taking the bar to a engineering place to see if they can make something like it in 1 piece, but its made it loads better to drive now the tie bar lowering kit

Its getting there now look loads better with the white primer on the bumper

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

as for the offset wheel problems, reading your posts it seems like you're getting it the wrong way round. the higher the et the more the wheel sits in the arch, the lower the number the more they stick out of the arch, so if you're currently using wheels with a et35 and adding 15mm spacers its effectivly making the wheels et20. so if you get some et40 wheels they will sit inbound to what you have now by 20mm, giving you 20mm LESS clearence to the caliper. the standard vaux offset is et49, so at the moments its like your running standard vaux wheels with nearly 30mm spacers. all be it you have wide arches so can get away with it.

that aside, great work on the arches to the front bumper

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

Cheers for that mate I get it now lol, but even with the wide arches on the front the wheels are still rubbing on the wide arch :/ but Iv just brought some bells and rotors so I can make the discs sit deeper and then I can move the calipers back as well then use smaller spacers hopefully sorting the rubbing problem

yea thats deffo the way to go, running massively wrong offset on the front funks up the steering geomerty and all sorts as they do an arc on steering rather than pivot.

Right i thought i add solved the problem but then it started only boosting to 2 psi again!! i check everything and the only thing i think it could be is the wasetgate sticking open sometimes, iv just been for a drive and sometimes it runs fine then some times its holding back and only boosting to 2 psi!!??? could it be possible that the wastegate would stick open sometimes?????

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

Cheers mate I will do!! Iv not done anything to it for weeks now kind of lost intrest in it :/ lol but I'm waiting for my top hat back from the engineering place I use to see if that sorts the boosting problem, and Iv finished work early today so Iv had a little trial fit of my new bells and rotors Iv brought, they nearly fit just need a little machining off the centre bore and new holes drilling for the wheel bolts because there off a Nissan skyline so Iv just got back from dropping them off, but it looks like I can get rid of them big daft 20mm wheel spacers now!!! glad yours is sorted mate no more oil pissing out and no smokey engine! Lol let's hope we don't have no more problems and we can have our rr day!!

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

Seems like they've had your tophat ages! Should be a lot better without them spacers aswell, them brakes must be a fair size, have you uprated your servo? Iv got 256's on mine for now, see how i get on with them. no iv got no oil leak, no smokey turbo & the engine is sound fitting the handbrake cable today & then ive gotta sort out my camber on 1 wheel cuz its ridiculous & its doing my head in! Been down & priced up some r888's today & dont wanna run them with a cambered wheel! Yea hopefully we can get them reliable enough to get to the rr day & back! Lol

    Re: Corsa turbo 4x4 rebuild

Yea they said it will take a few weeks so hopefully should be ready for the end of the week, the calipers are massive! Lol maybe to big really but I love the way they look, no still standard servo but tbh the peddle isnt that bad there is a bit of travel in it but I expected that, I had to take mine for a 4 wheel aliment to get the front wheels set up, the camber looked fine to me but the guy was like bloody hell these front wheels are set up like a f1 car lol have you changed the enigne spec or just put a new turbo on?
