Re: Scrap to Track Nova Build

Have you thought about trying some curved spoke MO's?

Mine fit over my bremsports spaced for 295mm discs with only minimal shaving on the top edge of the calliper. depending on design you might even get away without trimming the AP's

Also what size / offset are your MO's ?

I could send you one to try out if need be. (6x15 et49)

Re: Scrap to Track Nova Build

i havnt tryed the curved spoke mo's but tbh i dont think they will fit either the spokes are just to fat on comps and running a 10mm spacer just clears the caliper by about 1mm.
    my comps are et49 aswell.

ive got hold of some pro race 1.2s with an offset of et39 which clear the brakes fine due to the offset being wrong and how thin the spokes are, im most probably gonna run them on the front with offset et39 so no spacers needed then buy 2 with the correct offset for the rear. i dont mind having the wings pulled out to cover the fronts anyway.

Re: Scrap to Track Nova Build

right not much of an update due to wheel problems, spoke to compomotive and turns out they dont make my style of comps anymore was hoping to get 2 et35 ones but the ones they do are now slightly different.
so rang team dynamics to try and get some pro race 1.2 in an offset of et49 to fit the nova rear arches. after the bloke trying to tell me a nova is an offset of et38 i finally got through to him they wernt! He tells me they only do the 1.2s up to an et45 which means i would have to get them machined by 4mm to fit.
so really dont know what to do now either run odd wheels for track slag look or buy 4 new wheels with 2 in the wrong offset, ive got sets of wheels bloody everywhere atm lol

did manage to swap the comps over onto the corsa got fed up of the euro look also in the process of losing all the beano from the inside, complete ball ache

also found some pics from trax on route, fixing the exhaust which had fallen off lol

    removable boot FTW!

Still dont think you should rule out curved spoke MO's.

They are Comp's later design, purely to address the problem of caliper clearance.

As mentioned above i'd be happy to send you a bare rim to try out if you covered the cost....

Re: Scrap to Track Nova Build

righty only a small update due to running et38 which stick out at the front to clear the brakes i had the rears machined down but 3mm to fit in the rear arches, still very tight on the outer but will have some camber on the back soon so sould pull it away more.

    had both done for £20!

then had the friday off work to fit the other side brakes, bleed the system again and have a play with the wings.
    the wacked the wheels on.

    space between caliper and wheel

need to get the front wing out to here to cover the tyre.

    Rear tyre clearence

then sunday was seat fitting day for a little suprise that i will upload soon, still in the making but should be a top track car once done.
had to cut the rear of the tunnel to fit the seats in due to them being XL Revoloutions.

once the tunnel had abit of filler and paint it itll look spot on factory lol
some front bar and welding goodness

    thats all folks

no no the nova has its own place in my heart, it knows that i still love it, plus it has 4 throttle bodies to tempt me back, just taking a break over the winter then i will re insure it under classic as i hardly use it.

Sorry for the late reply. I've just confused the issue massively. Using the omex launch control with standard management is easy if you have a dizzy, but with DIS it uses 2 signals. So if you have a DIS small block you can swap to a dizzy setup, and use 2 ignition control modules to handle the 2 dis signals.
    That might make sense. Lol.

Right I think I understand but I'm using megasquirt with 2 ignition modules built in so no need to swap to dizzy the launch control works by cutting the spark.
