    Corsa GSI Replica

    my "£50" corsa gsi replica

well, This is my 1st car and 1st project but i have already got alot of plans for it.
i bought the car of a neighbour as it was going to be scrapped as the engine packed in. offered them £50 and 10 mins later its on my drive. The car is an S reg 1.2LS. this is when i bought it
    [IMG][/IMG]

The 1st thing to do was put a new engine in it because i wanted to drive it and not for it to be an orniment. So i went for the easy option and went for a 3.2 v6 twin turbo. I wish!! Bought the new 1.2 engine for £150 and job was a gooden 1st turn of the key and it was running. I had loads of pictures but got rid of them because doubt people want to see a 1.2 going in.

The 2nd thing on my mind was to sort the bodywork out as it was pink and i wanted to keep my mates so that was the next priorty. I went and got a bottle of T-Cut, the paintwork improved a little bit but it felt rough and was matt. So i then bought some Auto Glym Super Resin Polish and it worked a treat. I had a nice shiney red corsa

I then bought a nice (at the time) set of alloys. Team Dynamics Tornados, in 15" with tyres for £450, wish i never now though should have bought some allesios or cesaro's and saved some money.

Then i lowered it, putting in that last front spring and dropping it down 60mm brought the biggest smile to my face ever it was looking good.

So far i had spent about £800 and i was very happy with the way my car looked.
    [IMG][/IMG]
Im always looking on here at other cars and items for sale and i always seemed to stare at gsi's for longer than any other car. I wanted mine to look like one After searching for months for the right kit i found a red one on ebay. I stayed up bidding until 3am and finally won the kit. £120 what a bargain. picked it up and fitted it straight away. I had to drill the boot for the spoiler but other than that it went straight on no problem.

The last thing i have bought is a 2.0 brake set up. They have already saved me a couple of times in some close encounters with some rear enders.

This is how the car looks now
    [IMG][/IMG]

Some time soon i hope to put a new engine it thinking either x16xe or c20xe, Also want some new wheels. Will start updating when these things start to happen with more than 3 pictures this time

I'm sure I've seen this car somewhere else, can't think where.

    Good work!

A Tigra scuttle panel and Punto rear wiper arm are two cheap mods you can't say no to!

Top work! You cant go wrong with a gsi kit, subtle touches and some hard graft! Waaaay more fun that just doing what most young people do, and just get a corsa c or d on finance and become skint for evermore!

Nothing wrong with the wheels, had the anthracite 16" ones on my first corsa a good few years ago.

Mk4 astra clear side repeaters are a good cheap mod aswell
