v6 astra mk4 convertion help wanted badly

hi all i really need help and fast iv got a mk4 astra converted to a v6 gsi with a f28 box , the engine has been rebuilt from bottom up every part is new (gaskets to). now my problem the cooling, iv tryed everything that i can think of and everything iv been told to try but still no change. my water pump is not pumping coolant around and iv changed th pump and still no change iv tryed flushing th engine out to check for blockages but all fine. i first found th problem when i had no heat in side th car so took th hoses off and there was no water coming out th heater hoses. iv looked at th 3 pumps iv got and none off them are th same all diff impellers on one o th pumps it has a direction of turn marked on it (clockwise) but th water pump turns anti clockwise on th car so to me its turning the wrong way and there is only one pump can anyone help plz

Is this a case of a serpentine drive belt routed wrong so it goes over the pulley not under?
That will change the direction.

hi iv tryed that its on the right way as i was thinking that to start. from th alt up to the tentioner right across the top to power steer pump down to the crack up around th back of that and up over th water pump on th right hand side then back to the alt i really am stuck has anyone had probs we thuis after the convertion os am i missing something???????????

hi sorry its took so long for me to get back to u but the only pipe that comes from th theromstate is th top hose to th rad iv talked to my mate i got th car from and he thinks it could be th wrong head gaskets used when he had th hole engine rebuilt but i think there would only be 1 set/type of gaskets for that engine can anyone shed some light on that plz. or there is a hose on wrong or a blockage some place but am lost big time and its no much fun going to work in -1,2 we no heat lol

I think specky ment the other end, where you have the bottom rad hose, the heater matrix hoses and header tank hose, i got these mixed up on my first v6 conversion

what engine it it? X25xe i take it? And you say the water pumps have been different? Were they all for the same engine. Get e pic up, or at least a playschool drawing on paint of the way the aux belt runs.

yip all th pumps r th same way of turning but th impellers r all diff .i cant get a pic of that end as its all so tight for space i am going to strip to air intake off th top o th engine and have a look at all that hoses incase they r wrong. when u mixed em up what happened ? did ur water blow back in to th bottle from th feeder hose on bottom ??

i mixed up one of the heater matrix and header tank up as theyre all in that area, it wouldnt bleed up as it was pushing all the air into the matrix and not bleeding the system and steam coming out of the header tank cap.

well mine is just preshering th system and pushing th water back in to th bottle and wont pump water around th matrix so no heat

This is of interest to me as I have the same problem. I have put a calibra v6 engine into a cav. I cant get the heater to warm up though. The thermostat opens and the cooling fan comes in, I just wonder if the hoses are on the wrong way. Can anyone put up a pic of the correct way to connect them so we can check please? Thanks

interesting one this
ive changed the heads on my v6 cally and eversince ive not been able to get any heat into the car
thought it might be a clogged heater but now im wondering if the gaskets have blocked something
also noticed that temp guage barely rises i have seen it up into the 90's at times when ive been stuck in traffic
(so i know it works)but most of the time it just sits at the bottom

this is making me wonder(without looking first, as its f^&%$£g freeeezing out there)

where is the temp reading taken from and is it the same chanel that supplies the heater matrix

sorry for the hijack but thought they might be similar problems

hi not been on in a year or so and just read ur thread . did u get ur prob sorted ? as u say no heat thats what i was getting no heat and water boiling back out th bottle cuz of th pressure id say its ur hoses, i swapted mine round and it sorted it out in 2 mins defo the matrix hoses
