had a poke around this morning and think i have all the wiring for the lpg sussed
while the inlets are in bits i'll be giving it a birthday, oil, oil filter, spark plugs, antifreeze, CTS and pollen filter.
did a job for kevseymour today and took cruise control as part of the payment, so will be fitting that at the same time too.
i'm off for the weekend so thought i best not start it just yet incase (it has been known lmao) but will hopefully get it done next week![]()
vec looking sweet lol that was me today in the black insignia who honked at you on the A12 lol
Ahh i'd been hoping someone was going to give a post like that, i had no idea who it was, don't know anyone in as flasher car as that lmao cheers mate, you saw how dirty the vec was then lmao its not all roses with a black car living in the countryside![]()
got a delivery today, 6meters of 8mm lpg line, olives, p-clips and tow bar bracket
all ready for the conversion, hopefully get cracking next week when i have time.![]()
just a quick one, got the lpg converted manifold out
stripped down
the lpg fittings
cleaned up
also cleaned up the rear plenum, which has also got extra fittings for the lpg map sensor
something always annoys me about the x25xe plunums is they've got a real bad finish, bits all in the casting and really peally finish, so sanded them down
and gave them a prime up
will be doing the same to the centre and front plunums when i get them off mine.
so today..
got the vec in for some LPGing
so got the car in
strip strip strip
getting a collection of plenums, (also views the units newly aquired custard gloss kitchen units lmao)
for some reason my coil pack is just hanging there, no bolts, bit wierd
then turned my attention to the mint condition rear.....
tried the tank in for size, perfect
then cut the hole all the pipes etc come in through and the mounting holes( theres a tube insert so all stays sealed
but gave it a underseal and wax injection just incase theres some chafage from the tank.
next turned my attention to the more important bits, painting the plenums
painted the lpg lower plenum, nice and smooth, much better than vauxhalls gash attempt
and the rear plenum
gave the centre and front a good rub down smooth, took ages to do the front one in the flanges the castings really ****
and gave them a good prime
and last for today was to mount the evaporiator, nicely to the chassis leg here
one of my mates installs aircondition for a living so he's popping round tomorrow with his copper pipe benders and flairers ans shabizz to make a nice job of running the lines down the car.
i also downloaded the software for the ecu to plug into the laptop, very cool with gauges on the screen telling you all whats going on, and you can even go into full on live mapping, adjusting fuel trim tables etcthink i'll just start with the auto recalibrate button for now
Good progress mate, you are a modding machine!
Turbo Power is here!!!! And my god i LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
thing is Ronnie , whatever car you have you make it 100% perfect ,(i hate youlmao) no only kidding great job ,
steve
Drives - Phase 2 Cavalier Turbo, Vectra SRi 2.2 DTi, Zafira 1.8
first thing first, spent ages getting the bloody EGR pipe out, almost took the engine out. but got it
found a suitable 5pand fitted
next was the filler, as ive got a detachable tow bar i modified my lpg tow bar bracket to mount off the tow bar beam (will do the same with the trailer electrics) so i can take the tow hitch off when im not using it
modified bracket
welded on
and a quick hammerite up
next i started cleaning the rocker cover
then i thought **** it and painted that too lmao
and donepainted the yellow cap black too
then sanded down the primer and painted the remaining plenums
and cleaned up the hoses and clips
i got a MSD sticker to replace the gay ecotec
and painted up a few more bits
and all done
ive got to go to work for a 12hr night shift now so hopefully my mate will be able to pop in and run the copper lines tonight if he's feeling kind

Nice stuff man!
lickup! makes a big difference![]()

that all looks mintycant wait to see it all back together
i'll tell you now though, expect your LPG filler cap to go walkies very regularly. when my mum had her vitara the cap would be nicked every week so in the end we stopped replacing it. and just for the record, an aquafresh toothpaste pump lid fits a treat lmao

Cheers lads![]()
i'll look out for that then, my mum and dad have both had lpg cars for over 10years and only ever had to replace a cap once, when my mum left it on the roof lmao, must have more lpg pikeys your way lol. Hopefully it won't be too obvious with the filler where i've put it
can't wait to get it back together its gonna look the tit's if i do say so my selfworking 3 12hour night shifts now though so doubt i'll get any done next few days as i'll be asleep lmao
just a quick one, re wrapped the gas/injectors loom and fitted the lower plenum back up with new gas pipes too
and started building up the centre plenum too
not much progress as i start my 3rd 12hr night shift in a row tonight, hopefully will be able to run the lines and crack on sunday![]()
bit more todayfirst of all ive been running around in the ph1 whilst mines in bits, done 100 miles now since the conversion and is spot on, hasnt missed a beat, very happy
so as all was aye ok i gave it a service
in out of the rain
strip strip
new plugs and old calibra ones, it had actual GM plugs in, hadnt seen them before
couldnt resist giving the plenums a quick paint while they were off
and back together happy
so that'll be up for sale once mines all done
so back to mine, first i had a 3.0 divider left over from the dead 3.0 so decided to stick it on as its right in front of me
2.5
both
and 3.0
gave mine a set of plugs too ( yes i had bought in bulk  )
found a 5p for the other end of the egr valve too
then the most akward part of the conversion, running the copper pipe down the car, working with copper is so bloody hard to get it round and over everywhere
so out of the tank
out the bottom
was a bit of a twat to get it over the subframe, then down the car
and out the front rahhha
then last of all decided to trial fit the plenums, pretty ****ing cool![]()
so just got to get the evaporator in and piped up, then can put them back on
![]()
top job as always that looks 100% better.
are you sure you dont want to take on some extra work i realy need the lump out of the supra to see what damage there is cash always comes in handy this time of year lol
two very nice vectras there, must get around to paint my plenums white looks real well on a black car
down the unit again today
the ph1 came with a full set of roose hoses but wasnt sure wether i like them or nor, was just going to leave them on that but after looking at other peoples bays i decided i do like them and will suite mine with the msd sticker too
so got it back in and releived it of the hoses
and put my cleaned hoses and clips back on
then got on to some progress on mine, first randomly changed the pollen filter, not as bad as some ive seen
next i plumed in the lpg evaparator, it T's into the heather matrix pipes
then it was time to make a start on the wiring, it looks bad, but as it was in a vectra before, all the looms had been tailored to length for the bay so everything worked out nice
and put the control buttons in the place of the traffic master
could then start putting the plenums back on
i needed to make up some brackets for the solonoids as they were just sort of lashed on before, cue fabrication
bing
started plumming the lpg in
and plugging in
and then got all the covers and airbox back on,
very very happy with that
im just waiting for a fitting to arive so i can finish plumming the filler in
started it up and all the lights work anyway, full tank of LPG
so here it is all done![]()

shame you have to spoil it with a front number platelooks awesome without
![]()
that is one pretty bayi'm glad you kept the roose hoses, i think they really set it off. do they not need clips on them btw?
[SIGNATURE] [/SIGNATURE]
thanks mate
well you;d of thought they'd need clips wouldnt ya, for for some reason noone doesthe standard clips dont fit over the thick silicone anyway lmao all the plenums bolt to the top of the engine individually, so theres no strain on them, and are a real snug fit.
thats fair enough then, so long as it isnt drawing in air it doesnt matter whether they have clips or not i suppose. i saw quite a few at PVS this year without them either and it got me wondering
