    corsa 2.0 8v

Thought I would start a project thread for my corsa. This is my second 2.0 8v corsa, both have been purchased off my brother. The first was a purple merit that I intended to use for track use, had bucket seats harnesses, 2.0 litre brakes etc. My new corsa is an arden blue sport. 2.0 8v c20ne engine, 15" alloys in black with toyo proxes 4, lmf short shift, 1.6 16v brakes, brand new 1.6 16v driveshafts and mark2 inner cv joints, powerflow backbox and decat, minted sport interior.

Clutch has possibly just went, couldnt get any gears, so bought another full c20ne engine, so replacing gearbox, clutch and selector just to be save. Also got brand new ht leads, spark plugs, coil, dizzy cap and rotor arm with engine so happy about that.

Don't know how to upload photos so if anyone can help would be appreciated.

Don,t know whether it was clutch or gearbox, so got the full thing for the price of just the clutch, plus means I have loads of spares if anything goes wrong

Sounds good mate. Im also doing a 8v conversion into my corsa so will keep an eye on this. Use photobucket to upload pictures mate go on their site and setup an account and its easy peasy. I want to see the car and engine in there. Does the short shift make much difference then mate. And personally what does it pull like with the C20ne engine in there ??

Aye I have had a look at your thread I think. Yeah a will do that, got a photobucket account so I will figure it out. Personally I prefer a normal shift, it feels wierd but once you get used to it you can change quicker.

It pulls very well, this is my second 2.0 8v corsa both with the c20ne engine, the first was good but the engine started to stutter and I lost most of my power so I sold it to someone who was going to break it.

My current 2.0 8v is brilliant, my brothers got a 2.0 16v redtop cavilier, one night we decided to have a race to see whos was faster. By the end of third gear I was a good 4 car lengths in front of him but as we got faster he started to claw back some distance. They are brilliant for acceleration and will still hit 130mph which is how fast I got mine. Just make sure you have right shafts cause welded ones wont hold the power.

Yehha they are quick off the mark. I think if your brother had the 2.0 16v in a corsa it would be a different story, will probably keep up with it till around 60 and then drop off. Im a lover of 8 valve engines they are brilliant. Keep up the work anyways and hopefully you figure out your account soon as i want to see photos ahaa.

yeah your right there, i have always wanted to see the difference between the 8v and 16v but never had the chance to. Yeah 8v are brilliant, easy to work on and still loads of space under a corsa bonnet.

Yeah me too, will try my best soon

Ive been putting one in a nova, 20seh.. 8v power is underated, with everybody opting for the xe i just wanted something a little different. It looks more at home in the bay too and as you say there is tons more space to work. For a road car with occasional track use i think an 8v with minor mods, 4 branch and magnex will be ample

Looks very nice sitting in the nova, as you say looks more at home. And yes 8v power is underated mate they are good engines and as you mentioned easy to work on etc. I dont really compare the 8v to 16v they are different leagues, i just compare 8v to other 8v and so on etc.

My mate has a Corsa with XE and my other mate has a Corsa with a 16SV engine, they are both standard and they both pull really well. The 16sv really suprised me. They are all good engines but i do prefer the 8v any day.

I like the arden blue one out of all them anyways, even though orange is a nice colour it dont suit a Corsa B ahaa. What is the big rubber hose running over the rocker cover for mate ?? Also how comes you have 2 worm clips on the manifold ??
