My Mk2 astra gte 16v went in garage today too have 2 full sills, o/s floor pan, o/s inner wing and n/s rear spring mount welded £400 then MOT and it'll be back on road. It failed MOT 3months ago on all above plus rear brakes,steering rack gaitors tracking arms and ball joints all of which have already been done minus the welding which it went in garage today for.
Good to see you having the work done for a start, some people when they see rust etc they scrap them which is a shame. Any pictures of the car then mate, done anything to car itself or engine ??

Got car in part ex and money my way for my S2 Rs Turbo, it was a shadow of itself. So far engine wise i've fitted myself,
ENGINE:
F20 with quaiffe, racing clutch, spitfire 15mm leads uprated plugs, oil breather conversion, new rad and battery, k&n 57i, straight through s/s twin 2 1/2" dtm up swept exhaust, kent cams and chipped ecu. car went to courtney sport for remap and tune up.
Bodywise:
new headlight washers jets, half rollcage, sound system, dash parts and switches ful set of locks,full closure alarm i'll get car resprayed within the next few months too.
Sounds good mate i want to see pictures thoughh ahaa. What sort of power you looking at then with the mods you have done ??
will have to get it rolling road tested theres a place in averly/rainham on A13 will have to have that done after cars been sorted would be nice to know, put it this way my Rs turbo was stage3 with cosworth running gear and managment and was tuned by Ray Mason & Jano Oddkidd and it was really quick but I personally think my gte is alot quicker.

Just got home from work dropped in on garage on way home wont get car back until 4th August. I'll upload pics in a bit so far they've cut out old sills and floor pan, they've welded in and finished floor pan and inner wing. price has gone up too £600 as the lip of the body the sill welds to is rotten so he's making up new ones. He's also welded up 2 small holes in the floor size of 5p's.hoping to get it done before "ultimate car show at santa pod".

Just got home from work stopped off at garage on way home to see how car coming along, I must say she looking good everythings done minus 1 sill too be welded on. Welders name is SHANE he's done a blinding job on top of that he sorted a few other bits and pieces that he noticed needing doing at no extra cost. Unfortunatly he goes on hol today and is not back until Monday 2nd so wont have car back till that week.

As said before spray job coming in next few months, in mean time I'm still after few little odds and sodds for her like:
Front bumper preferably white ( One I got is worse for wear )
Interior door plastics in black
and if they come up some seats back and front, my passenger seat is ok drivers is worn and rear seats have fag burns. May get them retrimed.
Also would like elec sunroof from a cav.

yeah im sure u ll get there in the end n really cant wait to c her once shes finshes respect for sticking to your guns tho n doing the work lad n im sure wit the help of lads on here u ll get the parts required..
yeah cheers fella went down to look at her today after work she so nice lol. My mate SHANE is on hol till monday so nothing been done to her accept she now been rubbed down on sill,arches and primed ready for paint, when he gets back on weekend monday he finish other sill then done
Ah i remember this one. Glad to see it got the welding done. Quite possibly £600 well spent, currently welding all the same areas on mine, Taking a lot longer though as i only get to work on it about 1 weekend per month. Well done.
same as due to work and that was doing a day here and there then just wanted it done so gave it to some1 I know to do, so far he's done a cracking job.

Today (MONDAY 2nd AUGUST 2010) stopped off at garage on way home saw the old girl he only got back today and already he's fitted new sill he dont mess about. She'll be back in my grasp Wednesday morning I've took day off work so I can get her back to mine refit all carpet, dash and interior then straight to MOT too get MOT'D
Fair play to him then for getting it done that quick. Good luck with the MOT mate fingers crossed it passes first time for you

As above took day off work went too collect car at 9:30am today took it straight home biggest smile on my face
Got her on driveway and started the whole interior rebuild ready to go in for mot at 3pm only to find another hole, so started her straight up and shot straight back down my mate SHANE'S. working together we sorted the hole and went over hole car to see if there were anymore, there wasn't thank f**k. back in car back too mine passenger seat back in down A1 mot in she went and out again with new 12 month ticket

My fresh black powder coated rocker cover arrived today along with fresh new shiny chrome bolts to match and breather conversion, all I need is gasget and i'll fit.
