loads of clearance for the thermostat part as it points towards the passenger side instead of at the bulkhead.

i've just read this thread through... really good read!! you have no luck with oil pumps eh... lol hope it's all sorted for the long term now!
yeah its ridiculous, its killed 2 gm ones and a auto pumps one which tbh was to be expected. see if it lasts though this time. I've not lost patience with it yet, which is a good sign as I've had the car pretty much 7 years next month.

Looking good Nik, more clearance than I expected tbh.
yeah same actually. its because the nut where the thermostat spring is in the mocal one points at the shaft, the std one points towards the passenger side, in line with the pipe fittings. shouldn't, hopefully i should say, cause any future issues. if it wasn't on equal shafts it wouldn't have ever been a bother, and i still think the zlet pump must be a slightly different angle.

wheels swapped and headlight removed ready for some death. knocked some boost off the map in the lower gears and headed off to the air field for some abuse.
3rd gear was expected to be non functional but actually managed to granny shift it in most runs. one run i missed it completely, other time i got 5th by mistake. nice. times were crap as i had no grip. spinning through the majority of 4th sometimes lit back up in 5th. only got 12.4 but most runs were 130--131mph. decent speeds considering traction
2 pics on the drive home.

lol, vauxhall sierra... new old model
new 2 bar boost gauge
mounting thing for it. reason i got one of those is i have holes in dash where apexi avcr was years ago so it will cover it up nicely.
some stuff inside the box
hopefully work nicely. also be able to see 2bar instead of smiths which is where the needle goes to on the current one.

throttle cable was looking a bit shitty so decided to chop a bit of vacuum pipe and sleeve it. not sure i will leave it tbh but it will do for now.
gave it a good clean. inside the edge where the door closes etc as that was full of muck due to using the car for years without inner arch liners. fitted them a while ago just never cleaned up.
trying to decided wether or not to go for a stick on number plate on the bonnet instead of the one on the side. its always kinda not been the best, but I'm not really sure if i should change it or not.
