    Re: corsa booster

completely forgot to update this thread ffs.

    release valve tool. useful.

remove some stuff then checked the bottom end out. seemed fine.

    oil pump wasn't at all

also had to have the valve from the waste gate restored as it had deleted itself and somehow snapped the head off the valve. no idea why it had, or how long its been like that. odd.

then put it all back together with new pump.

runs, has oil pressure, light goes out, sounds fine indeed. then complete disaster. oil was dribbling down the back of the engine. various investigations seemed to suggest it was from the new oil pump area, as if the gasket wasn't right? ****er, had to take it all back to bits again, fit a different oil pump gasket (one that was leaking was new) and then got as much of it needed back together so it would run, after a few minutes of running, oil had stopped leaking. so thats sorted. then the radiator was leaking. nice. so I've got that to fix tomorrow, is part of the core, either tig it, or chem metal it hopefully, then fit the rest of the car together.

really not had a good day. although its good to know the engine seems alright anyway.

corsa turbo running with no exhaust - YouTube

sounds **** with no exhaust on

since i last updated, the vectra gsi has gone, the corsa c 1.2 comfort has gone and I've purchased a german diesel thing

330d sport. lovely car to drive, bags of torque, sideways action is quite easy with traction control off, and its doing 44mpg. love it. plans are to remove the egr, get a de cat down pipe then have it flashed with a map. people seem to say it gets from 204bhp to about 240-250, and from 302lb/ft to somewhere near 380lb/ft. will be great for towing.

and today i cleaned the corsa, took it for an arse kicking and to get some fuel as its off for mapping tomorrow morning.

I love the "ah funk" on the vid. Good work, wish my new oil pump gasket didn't leak.

    Re: corsa booster

yeah battery went flat, hadn't connected the alt belt as it was just a check to make sure it wasn't still leaking oil.

to say i was gutted, pretty much just a shell of the man i used to be when i discovered that an afternoons work needed re doing for a bloody gasket failure.......it was a brand new gasket as well. the metal type. ended up fitting the cardboard one that was kicking around new in a packet.

    oil leaks and vauxhalls.........common.

yeah, drag you down mentally and physically, but then remember why you bother when its foot down time and everything is working again, for the time until it goes wrong again.....

I've never been to pvs, so possibly might break the tradition and turn up see if i can run in the totb qualifying.

yea we all go through it mate, mine slipped the tensioner and skipped 4 teeth, unbelievably...no damage! good job iv got my faithful mondeo to get me about. you're missing out mate, its best show of the year IMO, maybe its just cuz i like to see little novas and corsas blitzing m3's rs4's etc etc. spekkys tigra always runs well down the strip and a yellow mk2 astra gte is always up there with the best of em

i know its no excuse as people travel from all over, but its a fair distance for me to do in a day really. depends if i can get some time off work. I've only ever seen specky run at totb and its mental enough there.

Due to incredible circumstances, z20let pump and pipe on order. Only got 1 run on dyno done. Typical cars.

    Re: corsa booster

nowhere near it. 1.6 bar ish, well 1.58 if you want to be accurate. i know not to use them, it was purchased to fit and check the engine was ok. i had planned to swap it for a z20let next month anyway, its just made me do it sooner. will update with some crap pics and a graph in a minute once they upload.

    Re: corsa booster

    bit dyno time

seemed like it was going to do alright. thats a happy face believe it or not.

first run, gave up to investigate the fuelling. was just doing power run to see what it was like. then as it coasted down it cut out. wouldn't start. once it had cooled down, started up, no oil pressure, engine sounds fine though.

push it out, attach to a sierra, yep, people still own and drive non cosworth ones weirdly, deliver car back home and wait until new pump arrives on wed, take it back, fit it, then put it back on rollers. gonna be a fun week tbh.

should mention, power was still climbing at 6k, so may have had a bit left in it. was then gonna turn the boost up some more and see what the outcome was. oil pump didn't like it for whatever reason.

    Re: corsa booster

not really sure. similar torque std, but vxr has a fair bit more power. only thing I've had a play with was a 106 gti and it destroyed one of them. as fast as it is now, fairly do want it remapped. they're supposed to be quite nuts. still having fun trying to master this sideways thing. really not that good at it yet pmsl.

sadly the corsa has kinda eaten my remap money though damn it. hopefully get oil pump etc done on it in the next few days. see if it survives longer.
